John Fox Comments after the game

I'd love to agree, but in fairness, those statements are not that different from what he said the last time this was supposedly under consideration.

I'll believe it when I see Matt Moore getting the starter's snaps in practice.

Agreed. How many times have we heard Fox say that not just the quarterback, but all positions would be evaluated during the week?

What a joke, at some point Jerry Richardson should step in and insist Fox give Moore or Feeley a shot just like Bud Adams insisted Fisher give Young a shot.

What makes you think that Jerry Richardson is not running the team now?

All these owners tell their coaches how they want to play football.

That's the fun part of being an owner. And that's why you see perennial winners and losers.

You guys should just be pumped as hell Fox admitted to thinking about changing QB's during a game. Thats progress!!

I might be, if not for the fact that the previous time he "thought about it" he came to the conclusion that Jake still gave them the best chance to win.

No guarantee his "thought" process doesn't wind up leading back to the same conclusion.

When Jake has a bad day, it is evident from the start of the game and it never turns into a good day. There's no reason he should have played the second half. I refuse to believe that Jake represented our best chance to win when that was no chance to win.

he admitted to thinking about it earlier in the year.......is that progress or just Fox saying poo so people won't hassle him. Jake will start again.....5 games is too much for Fox to give another QB and too big of risk to expose his mistake. He can brush off 3 games at the end....5 straight games of better QB play than Jake (which hasn't been medicore but high school quality QB play) and Fox will look foolish. Fox knows he can get slightly better play....this was about loyalty.

From what I believe, Matt Moore may not know the playbook enough to be the starter. Reason why I believe this is b/c Fox pulled Peete out of the 1st game back in 2003 with Delhomme coming in. Jake must have learned the playbook quickly & well enough during the offseason whereas Moore may not know the playbook or something. After the first 3 games this season, Fox STILL had "trust" in Jake. I'm also beginning to wonder if Jake's operated elbow is becoming weak. I read an article once about pitchers/quarterbacks who underwent Tommy John surgery & none of them (as far as I can remember) were successful again after the operation.

I think he pulls the trigger this week, simply because it is a home game. The last time he spoke about evaluating a change was after the Buffalo game, and was before two straight road games. Although according to football experts like Gman we don't make any noise whatsoever in B of A, those of us who actually attend the games know that poor quarterback play has been booed mercilessly (see Philly and Buffalo games from this year, and any game from 2007 that featured David Carr), and sending Jake back out there again would be a disaster.
