I want Mays to be a 10 year all pro starter and go to the HOF. But it's weird everyone has latched on to him while turning on BC. It makes no sense at all.

It's just basically the difference in seeing one guy play versus not seeing one guy play. Christensen is more athletically talented but he was not good last year and didn't show much promise. Mays is a long shot and less talented guy in theory but he hasn't played a down of NFL football so there is still hope he can do something.

I don't mean to say that there is no hope for BC but I think reality showed how steep of a hill he has to climb to be an NFL starter.

I think that’s a number someone typed in not an actual scale number.

He didn’t look in shape at mini-camp, not even close. I still don’t know why people care so much about him. He’s been out of shape since the Senior Bowl and hasn’t changed yet.

their  intrguied by the simple fact that he is so fat & should be able to man handle opponents.& we I think playing at the mighty University of Albama plays a factor as well

now with that said I agree with you 110% that yeah peoples infatuation with Deonte Brown makes no logical sense whatsoever...just saying

Deonta brown plays heavy he lost like 40 pounds last year he dominated in the run game needs work on pass protection but never really got a chance to play due to the thinking of needing to these shitty free agents to prove we didn’t mess up

brady is well capable of keeping up with fast d ends struggling with power but icky at guard taking advantage of what he does well is pulling and delivering pancakes opening holes is something to think about

Thinking that BC is a better tackle than guard <> turning on him. Iky has to be the LT or we got awful value for pick 6. BC’s not better than Moton so C or G is his spot and he didn’t play great at G.

I’m happy with anyone stepping up and taking the LG job. Deonte looking big again in mini-camp puts him in the same bucket as last year so Mays is our only unknown that we can hope he plays well. Outside of BC, everyone else a better we know isn’t the answer or a guy not really in NFL shape.

Good views of how differently the two are built. Deonte looks pretty nimble for being that large.

I'd take Elflein over everyone else at LG. The other four positions are essentially locked.....it's that LG spot up for grabs.

Ereck Flowers is still on the market. 28-year old former tackle, that converted to guard and played better there. His cap hit is why WAS cut him, IIRC. Depends on if we want to trust 4/5 OL to hold it down and shuffle the young guys and Elflein at LG vs. adding another FA to our OL.

I'm not against Mays/BC/Brown competing over the next year to see if they are the long-term solution. On Sundays though....I only want them rotating in to give the starters a blow.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
