I read some speculation it may be about his mom.  She had cancer a few years ago, but the strange timing and duration of the absence makes me think family-related

Only source I can find saying anything about it is a Northeast Ohio TV guy named Ben Axelrod who speculated that maybe the Browns would look at Kaepernick if Watson is suspsnded.

they'd be bettter of with Brissett. Why is there such hype for Kaep?  His footage from his tryout for the Seahawks (or Raiders?) was atrocious.
