I get it, everyone is always looking for an excuse to blame Rhule.  The coaching staff saw where Corral was and knew he was going to need more time.  They knew it when they had him 4th on the depth chart.  They knew it when they let PJ get more reps to judge the rest of the offensive players on.  If anything this just shows maybe the coaching staff was right on where Corral was and the huddle was wrong.  Nah, I'm sure the huddle knows more and if he had gotten more reps he would be the starter by now.. Corral isnt ready.  It's going to take time.  Everyone who saw the offense he came from in college knew that and that's ok.  Stop trying to spin everything into the coach's fault because you dont like him.  Corral just isnt ready yet.  That's why they traded for Mayfield.

So are you saying the staff knew Willis and Howell were more ready to play then corral but if we develop MC he will be better then both?  Because thats kindof what it feels like you are saying in a round a bout way.  If thats the case then I am not sure why we are trading draft capital for someone like that when in hindsight it appears we simply could have waited and drafted him

I dont think its that easy to simply "coach up" and develop them.  Just like your last post says its incredibly rare a guy past the top 40 (not sure why you picked 40) to hit.  If developing a qb was a thing more teams would be doing it as good franchise qbs are the rarest things on earth

For the most part you either have it or you dont.  This is in no way degrading Corral just saying in general.   Scott was there when Wilson came in and literally just took the starting job so who knows, or at least I would hope he knows what it looks like and if MC has it he needs to be turning the screws on Rhule

In theory it’s possible, but it requires real playing time. No coach is going to risk his job hoping a third rounder gets better by December.

I agree with you completely for a change.  People want to scapegoat the performance entirely on coaching.  Some players could have all the reps and the best coaching staff in the league for development and most of your mid to late round draft picks still arent going to pan out.  Hopefully corral will but using this performance to hate on the coaches is a bit weird.  He needs time more than anything

jake led a second half comeback in his first appearance.  Dude showed moxie from the get go

There are so many moving parts to this response and I will preface this by saying when Jake showed up and we went to the Superbowl.....yeah good times I remember them well. All that said, leading a comeback with a stacked o-line, a hell of a running game, and good to great wide recievers being the number 1QB is a lot different than being the number 4 QB, with JAG's and on the road. IJS....I respect Jake and always will for what he did, but come on mannnnn.....at least I agreed with you in part but I see Jake is a sore spot for you so I won't challenge the other parts  I referred to earlier that showed up early in his career that could be put into this which ultimately made him into "Shaky Jake" all that said...give the new kid a break, wait and see before you judge.

For those of us who were stuck watching the Commanders' broadcast, I took a peek at one of their forums just to see what they were saying about Howell and couldn't help but notice that they were bagging on their over the top homer announcer just as much as we were. 😂

You KNOW it's bad when the hometown fans are annoyed by the level of homerism. 😂

No.  I think they believed Corral was better than Howell or they would have taken him instead.  I mostly believe they think he was better than willis as well but we will never know for sure since he went before.   I do think the coaching staff/gm can potentially miss on a pick but its impossible to tell one preseason game in.  It's weird how it was a fitterer pick after the draft when everyone loved it and now 1 preseason game in it was a Rhule pick though lol

thats where you are wrong.  Rhule had the contract and the goodwill to do something like this 3 years ago.  Instead the dumb motherfuger thought our roster was good enough to win and..........well you know the rest of the story.  Certain situations can be baked in for a guy to take his lumps but like you say they at least have to play to take said lumps.

In short rhule had golden opportunity with his 7 year deal but like most things he totally fuged it up

it was a fitt pick but rhule is clearly mismanaging the situation.  I mean can anyone really debate that?

our 1s dominated?  You sure you watched the right game?  We gave up like 4 pressures in the first 13 plays.  Our backups had no pass rush

Wentz had to wait until we put in the 2nd and third string to move the ball at all.

Sorry you can shlt on the win all you like, but there was a lot of good stuff today.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
