Dude it's not worth it.. Locker room politics is non existent variable here..

Especially when things don't work the way some ppl here think they should work.. And even this changes depending the level of like and trust in said player or coach.. So reasoning for anything is a changing target on a person to person basis.. At the end ppl make up their own narrative and all you can do is agree to disagree..

You've been arguing with everyone here 24 hours straight and you can't even differentiate between bored and board and you're on here talking down to people about locker room dynamics. Take a break.

I wish I could read the word "rep" more.  Who knew there were so many "rep" management experts here?  What a time to be on the huddle

Yeah, I’ve never heard any fan of any team go into a training camp rep count until now.

None of the huddle draft experts dare mention measurables anymore because Rhule mentioned arm length one time. I swear people here would advocate 150 pound defensive tackles if Rhule said otherwise.

bold prediction: any bad play by Baker the first 10 weeks of the season will be attributed to training camp reps.

No I don't give a poo about autocorrect mistakes on a football forum and I realize 24 hours later that I'm debating the same issue over and over again..

You don't like Rhule you don't trust any move he makes so you will nit pick every  minor second of the rest of his time here.. Cool and understandable ..

If you felt like I was talking down to you.. ...

Well that's really your fault I don't give a poo..

Have a nice night..

Who cares if he's liked or not?

the players on the team? Thats the whole point you seem to be missing. Regardless of your feelings of sam its clear that players on the team felt differently.

All of these guys value their careers and their longevity more than anything and if he's a hindrance to their progress nobody is going to bat an eye if he's out as the starter. It's a business

i love the absolute hubris in thinking you can speak for every player/man on that team and what they value or dont. at least you are a good troll

You dont understand how this game works if you think just because people are being paid that respect isnt an integral part of 1) team building/cohesion 2) how grown men conduct themselves.

You dont value respect and treating people with respect. Cool but obviously NFL locker rooms disagree with you or else you would constantly see this happen.

If Rhule just gave Baker the job before he ever took a snap here or laced up his cleets it would tear the locker room in two factions. Thats a surefire way to lose the locker room and have the team implode.

Again if you cant understand that then thats on you.

Again, it’s paid professional sports.

Grown men know when someone can’t play and is being given an opportunity that is simply because of their contract or draft status.  NFL isn’t about fairness.

Why was Cam just given a spot ahead of PJ Walker straight off the couch last year.  Didn’t know the playbook.  PJ was ready to do his job.  He had been here for 2 years, healthy and prepared for that moment.   Team said he was the backup.  That was literally PJ’s purpose and the plan was it not?  The backup we entered 2 seasons with.  Was that fair?   Did it tear the locker room apart?

but I guess Sam is owed respect PJ and others aren’t.  Did our boy Heinicke get to battle for his spot? He was better than Sam last year?  Nope.  It’s the NFL.   They paid someone else and his paycheck dictated their would be no competition.  Its the NFL.

Heinicke didn’t get to defend his spot this year.  And he has played better than Sam.

Cam Newton literally rolled off the couch and took PJ’s job last year knowing nothing. PJ was healthy and ready to go….and the team supposedly was confident in him to step in if Sam got hurt.

So how did/do those locker rooms react?  How are those fair? Seems like a reasonable question.

NFL isn’t about fairness.  89 assaulted multiple teammates while not playing the game of football.  You think CJ or Shi can do that and stay employed? We went after Watson willing to mortgage everything.  You think PJ could be even employed with a fraction of that for the league minimum.

Sam Darnold got a competition because our front office had mass egg on their face and is the biggest cap hit on our roster.  Not out of fairness.

You know you are grasping at straws when you are trying to compare a UDFA to Two Top 5 Qb draft selections.

Heinicke and Walker were both UDFA who were always back ups and nothing more.

Cam Sam and Baker are all Top 5 Qb Selections with MULTIPLE seasoning starting at QB. You have to be trolling right? You think comparing these situations is "reasonable"

Just admit you have a hate boner for anything Rhule does and you will play mental gymnastics with yourself and ignore how NFL locker rooms conduct themselves so you can take cheap shots at him. But dont sit here and pretend that you are being anything close to reasonable.

I know your M/O well enough to know that you never think you are wrong and its a waste of time trying to move you from a irrational position you are dead set on. I just hope in the back of your mind you realize the comparison you are trying to use here is fuging dumb. You know that deep down im sure.

Yet you dragged Aaron Rodgers Brett Favre and Tom Brady into this to make a point to defend Sam Darnold getting a chance to fight for his job lmao. It's your bedtime nobody cares about your grudge you're still carrying over from a tinderbox slapfight. Let it go. Sweet dreams honey.

It doesn’t matter where someone was drafted 5 or 10 years ago.  Certainly not by other teams.  Especially if your soapbox is lecturing about fairness today and how guys somehow are owed the right to fair competitions.

The draft position angle is actually no different than referencing the salary/cap hit as to why folks get opportunities. Which is why I said Sam got his to compete.  Not fairness but his cap number.   Which again, that’s not about fairness.  Sam’s cap hit is what got him the opportunity to compete.    We didn’t draft Sam so the draft aspect is meaningless.  But a drafted kid by a team can get opportunities/chances over someone we didn’t draft.  That’s not fairness.  That’s the NFL.  It’s professional sports.  The investment and money matters.  A bad investment in Sam affords him opportunity.  A fair battle would be Sam vs PJ.  But money and mistakes prohibits that competition from occurring.

BRO.... context absolutely matters. Are you kidding me? You think Rhule is going to have a mid season QB competition where a UDFA goes up against the franchises best former MVP QB? thats the situation you are trying to argue right. Just stop man.

The QB competition was always more about Baker than Sam.
Everyone is acting like Baker is a hall of fame talent with no baggage.

Any young QB with with leadership and maturity questions, you make him earn his spot.

exactly.

honestly with the majority of this fan base Rhule is in a no win damned if you do damned if you dont situation.

We trade for Baker, and we instantly name him the starter so he can get all the first team reps. Thats what all the Rhule haters are mad about right? What if he sucks and the staff never properly vetted him to see if he has recovered from injury? Then the Rhule haters flame Rhule for getting another shitty QB retread and wasting more picks and holding us back from the savior Corral.

Or we have him earn the spot and he clearly shows hes better so now all the haters are mad at Rhule for not giving him the starter spot day 1 and taking "valuable" reps from him.

cant win with these folks. they dont see how irrational they are being. need evidence of this? look at @CRA @Mr. Scot or @rippadonn's post history. Youll find a bunch of irrational hot takes that dont even hold up to the basic levels of scrutiny
