So... about kicker and a third QB.

Santoso was okay for a time. If we found Zane we can find someone else for the time being. We definitely aren't alone amongst the rest of the NFL with kicker woes. It's been a strange few years lately.

I only know a couple of these names and can't remember if they're decent or not. Jake Verity just got cut and Jags claimed him so that's a bummer.

Welp...

Nobody saw that coming...right? 😐

What else are they supposed to say. PJ is our best option as backup QB at this point. While more talented players may be available soon they won't have a good grasp of the offense in only ~2 weeks while getting only mental reps.

I get that, but PJ is terrible.

We should have looked elsewhere this offseason but ya know... 😕

We had plan A) Sam and plan B) Corral already. Did you want a plan C?

PJ was on the express train to cuts-ville if Sam doesn't get rolled up last night. Who would have guessed we would lose both of the guys ahead of PJ?

While it sucks, this situation is largely a fluke ... oh and PJ must have that cat in him cuz he seems to have 9 lives

They're probably hoping there will be no need to see PJ play anytime soon. Also doubt any backup would be able to pick up the playbook fast enough, to warrant a change. But that could change if Sam misses 6 games or more ..

Everyone other than the tank crowd should be hoping to NOT see PJ play. It'll be somewhat interesting to see if they bring in a 3rd QB to learn the system or if they just wait out Sam's injury. I'd have to imagine we  get a QB for the practice squad at minimum.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
