Tonight around 8:20pm, we'll have a chance to watch the first meaningful NFL action in months.

And given the matchup, it might just be some great football.

(as great as Week One can typically offer, anyway) 😄

For somebody who's been watching the game as long as I have, kickoff day always feels invigorating. Even during the seasons when I don't have high expectations for the Panthers, just getting to watch teams battle it out again is great. Perhaps appreciated even more so for me since my health isn't what it once was these days. Time is precious, especially when it starts to dwindle.

There's also something to be said for viewing a game where you don't have a rooting interest. That's when you can just relax and enjoy yourself rather than worrying about the ultimate result.

Well, unless you're one of these rabid fantasy football guys, of course (I'm not) 😆

In three days time, we'll all be grinding our teeth, biting our nails and praying to deities that we believe in (or in some cases don't, just in case) as part of an effort to try and will the Panthers to the kind of victory that's eluded us all too often over the past several years.

But for tonight at least, I'd invite everyone to tune in, sit back and just enjoy the game. Specifically that one which is, In my opinion, the greatest game there is.

I always root for playoff positioning. Which means when it's a AFC/NFC game, I root for the AFC team.

Jealousy aside, the Bills are a pretty easy team to cheer for.

One down note: I might be cutting it close getting back in time for kickoff because I'm gonna be heading to my grandson's soccer practice at 6:00, after which Lady Cowboy Fan and I might be taking he and his parents to get some chow.

I always love seeing the first kickoff of the season, but getting back in time for this one might be difficult.

Family though...

      When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.

      Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.

      Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
