NGL, happy for Geno.  He has never been as bad as he has been portrayed to be.  In fact, he has great natural talent, I just think he was always in really crappy situations.  Regardless. I'm happy to see a guy who had to take a step back and sit behind someone for that many years get his opportunity and capitalize on it.  Also, Russ has worn thin on me over the years.  I liked him since the NC St. Days, but I've read and heard things that infer he isn't exactly as straight up or clean-cut as he projects himself to be, and he is a bit of a primadonna, AND now he plays for Denver, so f them lol.

And my last observation...  that's 2 teams this week that beat their former starter with a backup, including our game.  So maybe things aren't as bad as it appears...  The former teams definitely have a bigger advantage in these matches because QBs don't typically change tendencies and weaknesses, and the former team knows those...  whereas any information the former QB has can change week to week, and these games pretty much demonstrated that.

Lol can't stand russ fake ass persona

He’s a good QB, but you’re right about him being a fraud. He’s corny and probably has split personality disorder. That video he released a couple years ago after he signed a deal with Seattle is one of the cringiest, try hard videos I’ve ever seen on the internet.

4th and 5 has to be higher percentage than that 64 yarder.  They had time on the clock and timeouts to keep going beyond that too.

It's truly mind blowing how stupid of a call it was. Even if they didn't get it, if they snapped the ball at like 40 seconds, they would have had three timeouts and had a chance to get the ball back with about 25 seconds left and may have been able to get to the same distance for McManus to try the 64 yard FG again...

I know Russ is pissed off - this could be a meltdown waiting to happen inside the locker room 🤣

For sure, at my saltiest I'd claim he's the luckiest qb I've ever seen, but yeah he's a damn good qb.

Just a giant corn on the cob tho

Yeah I ran out of options so he's my fantasy QB because he'll put up 300 yards a game, but he's a weirdo

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
