Refs screwed us

So how can roughing the passer call be the only questionable call and then also be "just like the spike", another call/no call.

Okay, pay attention this time.

The roughing call was questionable.

The only questionable call made was roughing the passer- a judgment call, just like the spike.

But, the roughing call, just like the spike rule are both judgment calls.

My guess is you would not have said a thing about it had the Browns needed a TD to win and Brissett spiked the ball to stop the clock so he could make one last heave into the end zone and it fell harmlessly to the ground. You would not have said a fugging word about the call/no-call had the Panthers convincingly won the game.

Whatever makes you feel better as you fluff the zebras.

The media says it, CMC said it, Burns said it.    We got screwed by the refs.

Its sad, so many "fans" argue for the zebras against the Panthers.  People are showing their stripes around here.

It's a 60-minute football game and the Carolina Panthers did not put forth their best effort (or maybe they did) for 60 solid minutes. And, if you're comfortable laying this loss at the feet of the officials, then don't watch the NFL any more. You don't know enough about the game to watch.

You take care of business for 60 minutes and don't create a situation for officials to make a subjective call.

Just out of curiosity, how many post-game pressers lamented the outcome of the game and how the officials cost the Panthers the victory? How many players made comments to that effect?

this is a brain dead take. you dont need to be the better team for 60 straight minutes. the patriots proved that coming back from 28-3. You just need to make enough plays to win the game. We did that. The refs bails the browns out because they failed to get it done.

Maybe you need to watch more instead of telling others they dont know enough about the game. There are countless examples of teams who have poor halfs or quarters but turn it on when they need to. Stfu

Its sad, only on the huddle do they argue so vehemently FOR the zebras AGAINST the Panthers.

would have been cool if Matt Rhule went out there and argued the call more…with the same passion you have for defending everything said about him.

Who's obsessed with Rhule?

Interesting.  A repeated pattern of a legit point on Rhule being made and you avoid it by claiming obsession/love/hatred

Matt Rhule is the HC.  He claims he knew the rule backwards and forwards with examples. Why wasn’t Rhule out there arguing the call? That’s his job.  And he ended the game with a timeout in his pocket.  Could of used it then to try to get the right call to eventually come down.   He clearly didn’t want it to ice the rookie kicker. Make a big enough scene and those refs might of phoned a friend and got it right.  We have seen a coach talk his way to the correct call before.

A Hurricanes fan gets it. If there’s one team that gets repeatedly screwed by the officials, it’s the Canes. Yet, their head coach, Rod Brind’Amour, doesn’t act like a child and blame the entire loss on the refs, he usually explains that Canes didn’t play their best and if they did, the call wouldn’t have mattered.

As I said.  Your obsessed.

The thread is the "refs screwed" us and all you want to talk about is Rhule, who btw complained to the officials and in the press conference, and he is attacked here as a whiner.

Have you gotten back to your computer, BTW?

And the pattern repeats.

Message it to me, I’ll get it up.   I’ll be happy to advertise Matt Rhule’s pattern of bringing in the wrong people and is a bad coach.

you should of invested real time and created a pic of Rhule, Brady and McAdoo riding a dolphin screaming it’s 1000% working, you just can’t see it.

This is one of the weirder discussions I’ve seen, and that says a lot. We were in the lead at the end of the game. Doesn’t matter what happened before that. Should we been better? Yes. Does Rhule suck? Yes. Is it our fault we are in this situation? Yes.

But at this point we were in the lead, unless people want to say we weren’t in the lead (hint, we were in the lead). On the final Browns drive they got two extremely questionable calls going their way, and won the game. There is no big conspiracy theory here, the refs messed up and thereby helped the Browns win. This could not be more clear.

Can we imagine the reaction here if rhule had went ballistic on the sideline and got a 15 yd penalty.

Also, if the calls we got happen to the cowboys or the steelers instead, the national media would have talked about it all week.

Both of these things are true:

1) the panthers played awful most of the game and could have won if they had been better prepared.

2) the refs are abominable and gifted the browns the last second fg which changed the outcome.

The refs blew the call.  It helped the Browns.

we lost that game because of a laundry list of reasons though

    • I realize we were down 24 points when the Carolina Panthers touched the ball  for the first and only time  in the 3rd quarter...and they went on a 14 play checkdown drive taking the exact plays the Cards wanted them too and gave them overall.  and now you got folks cherry picking random plays asking how could it be garbage time if the Cards weren't in prevent on a 3rd down short yardage play or on the goal.  all you got do to is just watch the game live on repeat and not listen to the announcers.
    • Just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I think Bryce decides who he's throwing to before the snap too often instead of reading what he sees post snap. Now alot of that is trying to influence the safety, but if the safety doesn't bite, he gets stuck and it turns into Bryce trying to make a play off schedule as the other options are gone. Cam did the same thing when Kelvin and Smitty were in the game. Bryce sees the field. He just gets a little stubborn sometimes. And that's when he gets himself into trouble. That and he doesn't trust guys to make plays on 3rd down. Instead of throwing to the open guy and letting them get the remaining 3-5 yards for the first, he'll wait until he can throw a guy to the markers. I don't think those physical limitations that keep being brought up is that real for him. Well... until he gets tackled and fumbles the ball at an alarming rate. But he has a strong enough arm, sees the field, and doesn't get injured by regular hits.
    • Panthers win of course.  Like every Sunday I still have the hopelessly optimistic mindset  😎
