Regarding Micah Parsons

God. Imagine following up the Luke Kuechly era with the Micah Parsons era, flanked by Shaq and Luvu. Best LB corps in the league.

I still don't understand that pick. A shutdown CB is nice, but when you have the opportunity for a 10+ year MLB and field general, I don't know why you wouldn't take it. After 12 years of Beason and Luke, it's strange for MLB to not be the centerpiece of our defense.

I was lobbying hard for a Parsons/Trask draft that year. They never listen due to being too smart or absolute idiots.

Parsons would have been our next Luke and we'd have a 6'5" 240lb QB ready for a backup or starting role.

People would have soiled themselves if we drafted him because popular thinking was that linebackers don't matter in modern nfl

Everything about Parsons before the draft screamed future HOF, "special", generational. Some fans can see that and 12 GMs couldn't including ours.

I keep reading on here people disucssing a "fire sale" if/once this coaching staff is fired. I dont think the next coach will see it that way. They will see this as a roster with young talent that hasnt been utilized correctly. Teams are winning in the NFL with less.

might find out there's a consensus that no one wants to work for tepper. might be why he overpaid rhule. we had to settle for mcadoo as OC. we are full of college coaches. There might be another reason for this.

too tin foil for me, but I can understand that being an issue based on who we get for the next coach.

love or hate him chuck was alll over Parsons nuts.

FYI his best spot is edge/whatever the hell as long as its on the field

Always honestly, I didnt want him mainly due to MLB being soooo de-valued on the scale.....but hes not a MLB.....only if he wants to be....

Final shutdown CB >>> elite MLB

edge/havoc machine >>> shutdown CB....

final final- huddlers please give Horn a shot, this smooth brain talk of him is a terrible look. Hes being jerk'd around from man-2-man in 2021 to 2022 zone. Its game 6 for his career. He is maybe the only rookie Ive not worried about being 'ready"......hes already a 6 year pro, props to the dad.

    • If the losses were him not stepping up in key situations then it'd be a disappointment.
    • I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
