Jeff okudah going from a top 3 drafted cb who looked like a bust to what he's doing now after injury is damn near shocking.

Just gotta be patient.  There are positions where it takes years for a guy to develop and CB is one of them.  Andrew Thomas is another guy who looked like a bust but is starting to look like an elite tackle

Okudah always had the talent.  IIRC, the issue was he was not a good fit with Matt Patricia.

I'd throw Eagles OC Shane Steichen in the mix too as a candidate. I like teams who tailor their gameplan to their rosters strengths.

I'd look at the Jets Mike LaFleur as well. He had Flacco playing well and even had an UDFA Mike White putting up numbers last year.

Im very interested in the Panthers finally having an offensive coach.

Thing on that front though is that unless he totally sh-ts the bed, you're likely to see both AGM Dan Morgan and former Panther Greg Olsen on board the hype train for Bills OC Ken Dorsey.

I'd throw this in...

Panther fans have been looking for a way to get Luke Kuechly involved in coaching for years now (general indications are he's not that interested in working with Matt Rhule and company).

There's no evidence to suggest that Johnson and Kuechly are best friends or anything, but they're likely at least acquainted from their time at BC. And both would seem to be highly intelligent.

So maybe, just maybe, Johnson could have a better shot at getting Luke aboard that train than Rhule does.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
