The bandwagon for Grayson McCall

Woah woah woah now.... the hype is not over because of a single bad game. The kid is getting comparisons to Josh Allen for a reason. A great prospect locked into a shitty system and program.

Josh Allen only threw for 1800 yards and 16tds at 6INTs his final year at Wyoming.

Will Levis is not Josh Allen. Jesus Christ this place and its hard on for P5 QB's just because they are in the ACC, Big 10, Pac 12, Big 12, or SEC.

The question is of value. Grayson McCall may not be the next Josh Allen but there is no Josh Allen in this draft. Grayson McCall is 6'3, can move, throws with the highest level of precision into tight windows on time, with good velocity, on the move, and he works harder than anyone off the field. You don't get to where he is statistically in a "triple option" scheme without being an amazing passer, which he js.

If I can find the game against Marshall, who has a very, very good defense as Notre Dame found out, there are two throws that illustrate my point. Both happened in the 2nd quarter where he dropped a 40 yard throw through the air, on the move, into a bucket just feathering the ball over the DB. The problem was his receiver dropped one and the other one forgot where he was on the field. I'm talking a dime into a tight window on the sideline while rolling out on one and moving in the pocket on another. Big time throws.

A qb 5'10 sub 200lbs has never succeeded in the NFL.  If Young becomes a franchise guy he will literally be the first ever to do so.  You willing to risk your top 5 pick on that?  fug that

Wild stat.... the average height of the QB positon has gone down over the last ten years. In 2010 the average height for a QB in the NFL was almost 6'4. Now in 2022 we are at sub 6'3.

Interesting to see the NFL begin to trend downward in height. Probably a meaningless stat, but it does reflect that teams are less likely to depend on height as a guiding statistic as they used to.

why not do weights?  That seems to be the important aspect and most everyone on that list is well over 200lbs

i see your point

I dont know what it is about the "NFL diet" but players put on massive muscle and weight when they join the league. It's pretty crazy.... If you look at Lamar Jackson for instance.... the guy was around 210 lbs at 6'2 when he was drafted, and now he is over 230lbs and its mass, not fat.

I just dont use weight as a counter-productive stat when it comes to the NFL. NBA? different story.....

Young's rookie year is going to be rough though, bc he wont be on that diet... yet.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
