I don’t believe bridgewater has ever played behind a shitty online in his entire career… I guess this year with Miami. So why are his YPC numbers not higher?

Wait. Do you think the Panthers offensive line from this year is in anyway comparable to the offensive line he played with from 2020? Remember the meme here has been "can he play left tackle" for the last decade.

Make no mistake, this year's offensive line is special. It's one of the best since 2009.

Regardless, who really cares about YPA when the results are similar. This again is extrapolating Sam's best 4 games in recent memory. When I'm talking about Teddy, I'm referring to actual data.

A) This team can't compete for a championship

2) Sam does what McAdoo tells him to do

D) When the Lions let you run for THAT much, you don't need to elevate anything

A) Of course they cant right now. But Eventually they will, so EVENTUALLY YOU NEED TO GET A QB THAT CAN ELEVATE play and win you games.

2) Of course Sam does what Mcadoo tells him to do which is hand the ball off majority of the time because THEY DONT TRUST HIM TO DO MORE...a blind man can see that. Which is still a PROBLEM for the team when you are ready to compete with the top teams.

D) We dont play the lions every sunday so OBVIOUSLY i wasnt just referring to this game. So it goes back to my main point, Sam darnold is cool against the lions and their trash run defense but you arent beating the top teams in the conference much less the AFC. CLEARLY.

I’m just curious why you chose to compare Sam darnold to TB5 when Teddy’s number wouldn’t hit the value in comparison that you are extrapolating Sam to.  Just a weird comparison. Especially when there is a huge difference between the two on throw types.

Sam Darnold at his best is probably Ryan tannehill for us. But even we see thatll hasnt been getting the Titans that far.

Titans issue hasn’t been tane… it’s due to their old gm shredding the defense and skills players of talent and making poor draft decisions year after year.

I mean, again, we're talking about a singular statistic that at the end of the day has no real bearing on performance overall. Though if you're so fascinated by this, again singular, statistic I can say that in Darnold's career, year by year, his YPA is much lower than Teddy's, if that even matters to you.

You do realize that one poor performance and that average could return to the mean, right?

Yards per completion

1. Jacob Eason (19.67 - 1 GP)

2. Gardner Minshew (17.00 - 3GP)

3. Jordan Love (15.50 - 3GP)

4. Teddy Bridgewater (14.11 - 4GP)

5. Sam Darnold (14.00 - 4 GP)

If you want to set a threshold, say of at least eight games played, then you’d be looking at:

1. Tua Tagovailoa - 13.33

2. Zach Wilson - 12.79

3. Patrick Mahomes - 12.16

4. Jalen Hurts - 12.14

5. Marcus Mariota - 12.06

You could also argue that air yards is a more important stat in regards to a QB stretching the field.

Air Yards Per Attempt

1. Jamies Winston - 6.0

2. Tua Tagovailoa - 5.7

3. Mitch Trubisky - 5.1

4. Bailey Zappe - 5.1

5. Teddy Bridgewater - 5.1

All in all, I’d say it’s pretty obvious that Miami’s offense is built around stretching the field, regardless of who the QB is.

Thank you for this. I appreciate you pulling this together. Looks like the other poster wanted to turn this into an argument as opposed to just review some data.

What? Did you want me to google it for you? Why didn't you give me the statistic if there was some point to be made?

At the end of the day the production is the same, and that's still based off four games. This isn't accounting for the inevitable.

This is just sad.

    • He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.
    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
