He’s been given more grief than warranted because he was drafted under Rhule. He’s not great but he’s certainly not as bad as he was made out to be. Those saying he didn’t belong in the NFL were obnoxiously banging that drum only because he was a Rhule selection. 
 

He’s fine in the role he’s currently playing in and could have a nice career playing in said role

This is what I see as well. Quicker than he is fast. Great vision and makes good decisions but his top end is lacking and his hands are terrible. Still, he's a good rb to have I think.

      To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.

      Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
