Florida QB commit Jaden Rashada files for release from his commitment after $13 Million NIL deal falls through

Since it seems the players are now employees or contractors, will guys that wanted to transfer instead of going into the draft try to back out and go into the draft or to another school if a NIL deal falls through?

Quote

Controversy is swirling over a $13 million NIL deal that was offered to — and later apparently reneged upon — a Florida quarterback recruit.

G. Allan Taylor, who covers the Gators for The Athletic, published a wild story on Friday about how an NIL collective at Florida offered a contract to Jaden Rashada, a four-star recruit from California, worth an eye-popping $13 million.

On Nov. 10, Rashada signed that deal with the Gator Collective, an NIL booster group run by former Florida baseball player Eddie Rojas.

It's just going to get crazier and crazier, and dirtier and dirtier every year.

Nah, the bubble will burst eventually.

The 'Gator Collective' is literally a subscription service - people donating $10s of dollars a month to buy players. That's illegal per NIL.

The rich boosters with more money than they know what to do with will still continue to buy all the best players, but the price will decrease once the non-blue bloods stop trying to compete again - and once they realise it's madness spending millions of dollars on teenagers that might never pan out.

Yep. If there is a signed contract, lawyers will get involved and Rashada probably walks away with whatever settlement money he can get along with another NIL deal from some other school.

Word is his representative called Miami before Early Signing Day asking if our original offer still stood (he was committed to the U before flipping for a bigger, evidently non-existent, NIL deal). He was told to kick rocks.

He'll probably end up somewhere like Arizona St or Colorado - it's the kind of flashy signing Sanders loves to make.

Interesting. Doesn't Sanders' son play QB? I can't see Sanders playing Rashada over his own kid nor can I see Rashada wanting to sit.

Miami got money. They got a ton of that private school booster NIL money laying around.

They were throwing around so much money to basketball transfers this past offseason that their best player Isiah Wong said he was hitting the portal if he didn’t get a bag.

I guess Wong didn’t like to see Miami buy Nigel Pack from Kansas State for $800K and wanted to make sure he got his taste.

poor form from this kid and whoever is guiding him but this is college sports now.

The NCAA is gonna have to figure out some type of framework for this stuff. I'm all for the players getting compensated but it can't be a wild west situation.

Well just in the past week they’ve already changed the transferring rule to try and circumvent kids transferring year after year but of course they left some grey area about mental health.

one thing that would help is to

make all NIL deals public information. Transparency is needed. No NDAs for student athletes.

also, the tampering must be punished and punished severely. USC def tampered with Jordan Addison last year, and Mack alluded to UGA and another SEC school tampering with Josh Downs last off season and of course the rumors about Maye. poo is garbage. Killing the sport.

    • I'm not worked up about this but I had a little beef with his reporting or whatever it is, and can’t remember specifically what it was. A year or so ago maybe. It was something about Wilks or maybe Reich, but I thought the way he presented it was pretty slanted and I disagreed with the facts as he presented them, more or less. I believe it was an audio spot with FNZ. I took note that this guy was maybe all about some kind of agenda to be distorting the reality to make a story more appealing.
    • That’s not funny. That’s people who watched Kenny Pickett play.
    • Rich people who collect Health are indeed a surprising type of leaders. It's so exciting to see it but I have no doubt that this is clear enough. Where can rookies scare up striking Health recipes? I'm working on it at this time. This would be friggin' stupid if it freaked out others. Take this information very seriously. I still hadn't found anyone to tell me with respect to this sticky situation.   https://groups.google.com/g/actiflow-prostate-health/c/3csTfO4T70g https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/5837affc-861d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/6f1364f6-861d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/k6H8LBL14zY https://groups.google.com/g/synogut-price/c/gk7Vuy_kDR0 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/590538e2-881d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/387bb1e3-881d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/lnNwUSvAjwk https://groups.google.com/g/kerassentials-cost/c/5SLLeAVxU74 https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e1d45d45-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/a1266d43-8a1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/gVH8Ltoz_4Q  https://groups.google.com/g/pineal-guardian-brain-support/c/DRkldCEbe3w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/e24acabb-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/cecad6bd-7c1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/dnrUDyelUG8 https://groups.google.com/g/gutoptim-review/c/NYvnYEUQV4w https://ocsheriff.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/09b1fdad-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd804e445 https://bhaprod.dynamics365portals.us/forums/support-forum/9381c5ae-8d1d-ef11-a295-001dd80948b1 https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-reviews/c/_LRPsonxaPk
