Year 3 of there career.. Yes my opinion..

They won’t make it to 9.. To many teams infront of us need Qb and know they are talented.. We will definitely have to jump in front of either Houston or Indy to make sure we will get 1 of them..

This isn’t last years draft there will be more than 1 Qb drafted in the 1st round and at least 3 will be top 10 picks..

Hypothetical but if Young measures at 5'10 190ish and doesnt work out at the combine he is going to drop like a rock IMO

While the QB coach and OC will handle most of the work in developing the QB, i feel sure that Reich will have some valuable input along those lines, since keeping his job will have a lot to do with the success of the QB.

Yeah he sets the tone and likely know what he wants to do but the idea that we will be great on offense because Reich knows offense may not be true if we dont have good coaches on the offensive side. He needs to get the OC right or the advantage of having Reich might be somewhat muted.

I'm sure Reich will be democratic about it.

Matt Corral - Tepper guy; wants him developed

Jacob Eason - Reich guy; been developing him for 2 years

Davis Cheek - Fitterer/Morgan guy; keep bringing him back and want him developed

Aqeel Glass - Senior Advisor/Advisor/OC/QB coach guy [Tom Moore/Clyde Christensen/Jim Caldwell/John Defilippo]; been working with him since last year and have him going into the USFL.

Nick Foles - a veteran fall back that Reich would like to have on his roster if the Colts release him.

My guess is there will be no QB drafted with this class, and Reich will focus on developing his QBs. He will want to focus more on drafting offensive weapons and defensive players. Likely 2 TEs and 2 LBs in the draft. Reich and Ballard saw more value in waiting for a UDFA in the draft last year and this class is weaker than last years.

Would that be disappointing?

Hell yes and dumb..

Tepper and Fitterer are not going to go with another retread vet. It will be a rookie starting as soon as Frank can get him ready. Anyone signed will be a backup period. No bridge for a season or two but a backup that has a 4 or 5 game shelf life.

The writing was on the wall since the Cmac trade.. I don’t understand how ppl don’t see this..

I still think he won’t make it to 9..

Reality he is a better prospect then Kyler Murray..

Kyler has been hurt in every season he has played effectively tanking the cardinals.   Now of course you can argue if its his size that is getting him injured but its still a fact he has missed and played portions of the season hurt.  The playoff game last year where he refused to leave the pocket allowed the rams to totally dominate him.  His game is moving around and if he is scared to do that then he is worthless.  does this apply to Young, I dont know but I promise you teams in the nfl are comparing the situations

Carr and Garoppolo will be 32 or turn 32 during the 2023 season. No team is buying them for ten years. They could play into their forties but it’s more likely they will be unquestioned starters into their mid-30s.

We could offer them a good contract and make them our starter for the next few seasons (at least). We would have a young quarterback being coached up behind them to be a potential successor, cheaper backup, or potential trade chip.

If we are throwing a rookie in there, then obviously we’d be looking for a different kind of veteran quarterback. Perhaps that wasn’t clear in my original post.

They still think they have a chance to be Super Bowl Qb’s they are going to teams looking to win not rebuilding teams.. Think Jets, Raiders, Saints and maybe Bucs and Ravens.. We are not the retread team this year.. We’re trading up and getting either Stroud or Levis JMO..

Still the small QB thing won’t detour QB desperate teams and there are alot this year..

Dude has produced consistently in the SEC is a hesimen winner and has better football instincts then alot of QB who came out the last 3 years.. His arm talent is shockingly impressive and he can make plays on and off script..
some teams will talk themselves out because of his size but the Qb thirst is real he won’t make it past 6..

Here are some good potential offensive coordinators that will be available.

Sounds like a better plan. This draft loaded at corner which would also be welcome.I dont see 2 TEs happening though.

We'd be foolish to trade up.

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
