Massive step back

Long time hornets fan who is growing tired of MJ and his regime. The hornets have taken a massive step back from even last year and this is far from just losing Miles. Team just seems entirely lifeless so often. I reserved judgement on the Clifford hire but i had a bad feeling and it already seems like another blunder. Why is Mason even still playing massive minutes? Get rid of him now. This team is desperate to develop young guys like Mark. Cant even express how frustrating this franchise continues to be.

I hate to be so cynical about the Hornets but we have been irrelevant for a long time now.  Outside of getting the #1 pick in the lottery or an absolute steal in a trade we aren’t going to win big here.  I don’t like the coach either.  We are just a meh franchise and it won’t change without a miracle

Mark Williams with a whopping 60 seconds of playing time last night in a loss against the Pistons. Put Clifford out to pasture already.

I haven't watched a game in a couple of weeks, but Cliff was rotating the young bigs, giving each of the three a few games to develop/play before moving to the next. Honestly, he should be playing Richards, Williams, and Jones every game instead of Plumlee. But that's not going to happen.

They're trying to trade Plumlee, why would you bench him.

Thats the dumbest thing you could possibly do if you want to get value out of him.

Nobody is going to give up anything of value for Plumlee. But the point is that the team has 3 young bigs they need to develop and see if any of them can be a starter. They can't do that by snatching them in and out of the lineup.

What could they possibly get for him that would be worth enduring yet another lost season and not even trying to develop our younger talent in the process?

Why are we so bad this season? It can't be that Miles made this much of a difference. I thought our defense was bad last year but it seems to be worse. Borrego had this team looking way better, had the team .500 with a chance in the playoffs but was canned. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Injuries first…but a hard headed coach (we all knew this when he was rehired) who preaches defense and can’t get the team to play it.  Team has no cohesion.

Do you think if MJ knew that Clifford would be the only person that would take the job that JB still would have been fired?  Jordan is an idiot and surrounds himself for idiots.  Maybe will luck up and get the number 1 pick but I doubt it.

That is MJ's problem in a nutshell. He makes these idiotic emotional moves that kill the team time and time again. He cannot think ahead and stick to a strategy to save his life. Also, the yes men he surrounds himself with are too chicken to call him out.

I am seriously wondering if the anyone cares anymore.  The NBA is garbage,  a team like Charlotte has not chance of ever being good.  The draft is rigged and no FA is ever signing here

    • With Horn I would gladly over pay... via the TAG.   I would take his 5th year option and TAG and TAG again. Dude is a monster but I dont want to pay for a monster with as few starts as he has.
    • If Bryce plays like last year, we will be picking high and can move on.  But I am curious to see how people on here are when he sees success and becomes the guy, if he does. It's almost like people want him to fail. He's got that Panther jersey on and a good attitude. I am rooting for him, as you should.  Last year the coaching, OL, and weapons were abysmal, and it put him in a tough spot. He did not play well either, but we saw glimpses, and its a full team sport. I choose to go into this year excited under a fresh new regime and a top prospect from 365 days ago at the helm with new OL and weapons. Whatever happens, happens. Let's have some fun with it.
    • Maybe. You know he wanted that OC gig each time, I believe the last time they even stated he interviewed for the role. This was during the whole youth movement that mccvay started as well.  Honestly I was hoping Seattle would have cut ties with pete, he would have been great here in a top mentor role. I don't think its talked about enough, they did Pete wrong. He made them a great NFL team for the first time in their history and gave them a SB. He's still in great shape by all reports and they just decided to go young. They even removed most of his pictures and quotes in the building. Sorta like what the pats did to bill, but waay worse.  I guess I have too much loyalty for the new times, no chance either should been to out for retirement..
