No, no, I get it now. The Panthers wanted Carr so much, that they lost out to a team with major holes, that's cap strapped, and doesn't have much in the way of draft capital. They also didn't throw a trade offer before free agency as well. Definitely Plan A, definitely.

Carr wanted, and got, more than the Panthers were willing to pay. It always happens in FA. Nothing new.

Okay, so he was 'right' because he didn't say anything and read tea leaves from actual reporters.

I mean he said expect big news soon right?  We were either signing Carr this week or moving on.  I think it's going to be difficult to leak hard facts from our current staff because it's really a brain trust of our HC, GM, and their staffs like it should be.

People who lie about having inside information don't tend to be able to predict things correctly. This one has yet to be wrong about anything.

The first one who came along was wrong about one thing but they admitted that was their own speculation and it was understandable.

Most of us were smart enough not to be asses about it, but you do you...

Saying he was wrong is not being an ass it's stating the situation. If you can't handle that it's on you. Maybe he'll come back and be right from here on who knows. You're taking it personally like you know who they are. Peculiar. And you've been an ass about things here before like anyone else that's always been how the huddle operates.

He said that Carr was plan A in another post. If they walked it a bit back after, I didn't read that post.

It is when they weren't.

That's not what they meant.

Correct, and reasonable, which unfortunately seems to not be the norm on here.

Gee, I wonder why Insiders run off 🙄

Alright, so the big insider @Leaky_Faucet predicted we would kick the tires then. The Plan A comment wasn't really what they intended it to mean. The Panthers weren't as interested as other teams, and only 'kicked the tires' as widely reported by pretty much everyone.

Who is @Leaky_Faucet's main account then? Because no one here would care about these half-hearted predictions if they weren't somebody that's in the clique.

And that's fine. Our plan A money could have been 140m with only 50 guaranteed. It all depends on how you build around plan A. If it was Andy Reid signing him, I'd be worried. But it's Dennis Allen which brings him down in play level, IMO.

I mean, I agree, he's not worth it. Though letting your division rival acquire your Plan A at quarterback, in a wide open division, after years of not being competitive because of deficiency at the position? It doesn't seem like a market contract would be the hold up if the Panthers truly coveted Carr.

Oy 🙄

Here's hoping they get that not everyone here acts like this.

We can covet Carr and still not be up to that level of contract. I think the Saints overpaid. That typically happens early. I'd be more concerned how they're going to build around him with where that leaves them with cap space, I know it's imaginary, and draft picks. I suspect if they hit on their picks well, they'll be laughing all the way to the NFCS title for several years. If not, that'll be a different story.

Who cares?  If you think he is full of it why are you wasting so much of your time on him?  If you think it's just an alt trolling just ignore it.  He hasn't really said anything too crazy for it to be a troll IMO, just mainly listing out a timeline and our possible next moves.  Crown (the other leaker) actually threw out some staff names before the hires.  If either of them are legit I'd like to keep them around.

    • Little light hearted topic.. For whatever reason Cam Newton doesn't appear in Madden ultimate team every year for whatever reason like most legends. I personally believe it's due to them robbing him of appearing on the cover of the video game series during his peak years winning NFL rookie of the year and the MVP super bowl run.  Needless to say I'm a huge Competitive Madden ultimate team player spending hours of days crunching numbers and churning roster management. When this was announced it was a lightening rod in the Madden community. Competitive players know Newton is a game changer.. Your talking fastest quarterback in the game and highest throwing power in the game when he drops. That a long with. Unheard of ability at quarterback like freight train the ability to run over linebacker and corners and I was stoked. I m ashamed to say how much money threw at the game to try to pull newton and failed  But it's a big deal seeing as every pro Madden player most certainly has to have him on their roster and the card art is pretty sweet.
    • A few different ways this can be taken depending on how you view things: Negative: This coaching staff is so inept that players are having to practically beg them to put them in situations that we as fans have been screaming for. How could David Tepper and Bryce Young do this to us? Positive: The coaches are listening to the players who are trusting the coaches! Neutral: Collaboration can lead to good things, so hopefully this starts the upward trend we've been waiting for.
    • I've been trying to tell y'all since preseason that Brycen Tremayne is the missing piece. 😛 XL, TMac, Coker, and Tremayne all dumpstering DBs when the team runs out of 10 personnel will be hilarious.
