Supposed Schefter report without any source cited for actual comment (if one was made): Panthers have reached out to GreenBay inquiring about Rodgers

yeah, you know what...I forgot that anyone can have a blue check now lol.  I figured that guy I shared was a verified NFL reporter lol.  Brobible though.  Dumb twitter.

Kleiman is generally decent even if most of what he does is just retweet other people's news. I've seen him get fooled before though.

A lot of the phony Twitter sites like NFLrums and ML Football have taken to attributing stuff to legitimate reporters to make them sound credible.

but a NFL team is really no different than a politician.  They all speak in half truths and aren't afraid to flat out lie about what they are doing.

TBH, Aaron is a douche, but if you ask me, this move would make a ton more sense if we're drafting AR with our first pick.  Rodgers isn't gonna be looking for 5 years.  Maybe 3 max.  He honestly might not even be thinking about playing beyond next season.  He's essentially been playing on one-year deals for the last 2 or 3 seasons, iirc.  Also, DJ and TMJ would be the most talented receiver duo he's played with in years. He'd be the perfect bridge and makes much more sense from a fit perspective than Carr and a rookie.

If we were to make this move, you can also expect a ton of high-end vets looking for one last run to join here on one-year sweetheart deals, much like the huge infusion of talent the Bucs got when Brady joined there.

I like it.  Also, I kind of had a feeling, because when Florio asked Reich about it, Reich's laugh was pretty telling...  it made for an uncomfortable moment.🤣

I also just can't imagine the Packers could demand much as Aaron has the leverage there and he's 39 years old regardless...  this is interesting.

Sometimes, yeah.

I'm pretty sure this story is someone trying to grab some insider credit, though.

I just don't think we are quite in "win now" mode to try to make a hefty contract like Rodgers work.  We still have a pretty young roster and seem like a good team to draft a QB and left him develop with the roster.  I could maybe see us signing Carr because you still get probably 5 more years of solid QB play, but rookie just make a lot of sense with our staff and our roster.  Let Reich, Caldwell, Brown, Staley, and Fitt find their guy this year and get him.

Kleiman's tweet says Schefter said it on NFL Live. Posters here have backed that up.

Yeah, the one guy who "backed it up" is full of sh-t 😄

Like I said, this is how these phony sources work. They claim they saw a legit source say it on TV or radio so it's harder to verify.

Also browsing the Packers board some of them are suggesting our two 2nd round picks for Rodgers because of his age.

That is a no brainer we still keep #9 and possibly have a QB still fall into our lap.

Win/Win

Can't remember which one said it yesterday, Fitt or Reich, (I think it was Fitt) but they basically said we are in win-now mode.  And if we get Rodgers that becomes more like, "win-Superbowl-now."

Orrrrr they just both watched the Schefter segment and tweeted it out? Idk why you're getting so defensive about this.

I honestly could see it for a 2nd and 3rd or 4th.  But even 2 2nds for a potential Superbowl run in year one under Reich while Rodgers' successor is waiting behind him?  Sign me up.
