Nice board, been reading over a year but just signed up to throw in my two cents. 😄

First I gotta say, a lot of you seemed ready to burn Waddell at the stake, 2 games after the trade deadline now you’re ready to crown him king lol.

Canes looked good last two games especially on the power plays. Keep in mind though Arizona was a depleted team trading players for future draft picks, they brought up 4-5 players to fill the gap when we played them.

Bolts have been in big slump as well, losing previous 4 games, plus they played yesterday and even the canes have a rough time with back to back games.

I do think Ghost was a good pickup, but I look forward to seeing the Canes play a team at the top of their game to see where they’re really at. High hopes, but the verdicts not in for me yet.

Cheers!

Spot on homie!

Next Sunday in NJ will be the 1st real test for the new group. But, cupcakes or not, the boys are playing lights out right now!

ZOD has to like that the Canes board is bringing in traffic. I think we are a nice alternative to Reddit who historically is more “gather your pitchforks” and “jump off a cliff” than we are and I feel like we are more welcoming than say… HFBoards, who already has an established group that they prefer to stick with.

💯 we have a core group on this board now. And it’s seems like each week, more show up.

if the huddle is the official board for the Panthers, why can’t the huddle be the official board for the canes?

For sure, 7 for 9 PP goals over the last two games, who does that!

Looking forward to seeing Puljujarvi, word is he’s still resolving work visa issue, but will be with the Canes against the habs since he still has the Canada visa.

I'll pop into r/canes occasionally for a specific topic. But, otherwise, it's here and #CanesAfterDark. Although Elon is making Twitter almost unusable...

HFBoards has a lot of good posters. Unfortunately there are 2 or 3 on the Canes board who accumulate thousands of post per year and gatekeep that section of the forum. Gocanesgo I hope he reads this. There’s also the Canes discord which I happen to like a lot. Canes Twitter is a cesspool.

    • Evero to the Raiders makes zero sense unless the OC he's pitching them is a failed HC who doesn't have interest in trying for it again. They're a team about to draft a QB #1 overall, developing him is job #1 for the new coach/staff.  Hiring a DC with a young up and coming OC wouldn't make any sense, because then you risk losing that OC to a HC job after maybe just a year or two and that young QB has to change system, play caller, etc. It's why hiring an offensive minded coach makes the only sense.  The Raiders have to make the right hire/pick with this HC hire and #1 pick combo because of that division they're in, it's a gauntlet and you can't screw up this opportunity.
    • 1. Sadly, it's just too early to tell with Icky. And the draft will have come and gone before we have anything, FA, too probably. Njiman was good, but there's dollars to be invested there as well. This is really our biggest puzzle to figure out. And Moton on the other flank is getting long in the tooth, too.  2. Coker: Pay the man WR2 money.  3. Most WRs take three years before you really know what you've got. We'll know for sure by the end of this one and he's still on a relatively inexpensive rookie contract. Now if someone comes calling for a good, good trade... 4. This is the make or break for good teams vs bad teams. And depth development is essential. We've had a bit of that but there isn't a spot on our line that doesn't have worries except for maybe on guard.  5. I think you draft the best ILB, the smartest one in the first round and don't look back. People lost their poo here on this board when we "wasted" a pick on Luke Kuechly.  6. Yeah, I think Chuba is a workhorse. But we need to be more decisive in his use. Still not sure Rico doesn't come back next season, too. He'll get to see the marketplace first, though, and we'll offer similar numbers to him.
    • I've grown to enjoy Mike & Tripp, even more so after listening to the ESPN, TNT, TBS hacks who, for whatever reason, seemingly don't know dick about the Canes.
