He was my pick to go 1st overall this draft before the season

Then this season happened where he didn’t progress in any area at all.

Still can’t process, doesn’t throw with anticipation, pocket awareness is non existent and he gets hurt a lot.

Rocket launcher of an arm is cool and all but that only gets you so far.

Yeah his cons are the kinda stuff coaches aren't usually successful at improving. You can't give these guys brain transplants

Early on, Wentz looked like he was gonna be in the MVP conversation for years to come.

Then something happened... heaven only knows what.

If I knew we could get the version of Wentz that existed before things went wrong, I'd absolutely do it.

NFL stands for "Not For Long". That's what I've learned watching for years.

Wentz got injured, watched his back up hoist the trophy, lost all his coordinators, and the rest is history.

Very rarely do players have long successful careers. There's no way on earth to predict it happening or not.

Haven't read the thread yet ... but of COURSE the majority of the Huddle doesn't like him. He's "boring". Not "flashy". Not "electric". Christ, a 1/3 of this board wanted Zach Wilson lol. Give Levis a headband and have him scoot all over the field and the Huddle would be in love.

I don't really think that's it. His positives are his athleticism, arm, and scrambling. His biggest critics like the much more traditional, in other words boring, quarterbacking of Stroud.

Josh Norris and Josh McCown (pre us hiring him) made this excellent show where they analyzed Young, Stroud and Levis. Their analysis felt very fair and unbiased. I haven’t watched any of Levis games myself, but I fully trust the opinions of the Joshes, and the Levis review was rough. They tried to be nice, but it felt like the mental aspect and processing is significantly lacking for Levis. So that’s why I don’t want him. I don’t hate him at all, but that analysis made me not want him.

Loads of mocks have us taking him, several after a trade up to #3.

Of course? Why wouldn't they? That doesn't mean anything. Lots of quarterbacks get mocked and selected very high with the same problems Levis has. We even traded for one of them.

It's based at least partially on multiple sources pointing out that we like him

I haven't watched their breakdown yet, but I've watched all of his games that I can find, and it sounds like my same takeaway.

    • Thin sliced roast beef, provolone, and roasted bell peppers on a toasted sub roll.  At least one thing is going right today. I don't trust anyone who's never put Bugles on their fingertips to make witch fingers.
    • But yeh,  Bryce is the only problem on this sorry excuse of a team. You could put Tom Brady on this team and we would still suck . Worst part is Tepper and his various band of clowns have been trying to build a competitive team for 7 freaking years and are no closer now than when it all started.
    • Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient.  Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant.  There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge.
