Anyone pissed off about Moore only getting 20 attempts

No.

Our gameplan/philosophy regardless of Fox's presence or not, is to run the ball, It is our main reason of success for the past 2 years.

You do not need a Peyton Manning esque, throw the ball 35+ times QB to have success with this team...It's more of a luxury really, especially for this team. As a matter of fact a QB like Kyle Orton would do wonders in our run first, throw second offense.

So pertaining to the topic while I personally would have enjoyed to se Matt throw 30+ times you are only asking for trouble, especially since in our playbook I'm willing to bet you can count how many passing plays we have with your hands.

So no.

I am not pissed off we throw 20 times so much as when we ran and passed. The playcalling was awful and Moore wasn't put in good position to throw most of the day. The line was porous and stewart and sutton did most of the damage by themselves. They didn't have many great holes and the protection was poor. Moore didn't screw up and had a passer rating of 73. Its sad when that is pretty good for us this year.

i don't often agree with you but since I do here....I figured I would acknowledge it.

same scenario can be said for Jake in many games....he hasn't been put in good position either a lot. When the run is working they ask Jake to throw. When they ask Jake to throw...a lot of times it was set up for disaster from the beginning.

However, it is what it is. When put in a bad position...Jake normally does really bad things...and then he would also do it when things actually setup pretty good for him. Moore didn't hurt us today (even w/ the pick).....it wasn't a game changer. That is what the QB has to do.....he is going to be put in a lot of bad scenarios....he just has to escape them w/o hurting the team and make plays on the rare plays he is put to have success.

I dont know if I was pissed. I was angry on the one 3rd and 8 when they were in FG range and they just ran it. That pissed me off. I know that is what Fox does so I wasnt surprised.

If you are talking about our last score, that didn't bother me at all. I was glad they didn't risk an interception. A nearly automatic FG that puts us up by two scores? In today's game, thats a big gain. IMO, it was a good call. Against another team with a better offense, perhaps not. But for todays game, it was the way to play it.

I understood it. I still didnt like it :-) I just would have liked them to try and get a 1st down. They are 4-7.

    • This is where I'm at. Dowdle is a feel good story and glad he's proving his doubters wrong. I just don't see how we keep our OL intact (which is the right move) and spend on another RB after giving Chuba his money. Though the odds are against him, I do think Brooks can still be our RB2 next year..and if he stays healthy, our longterm RB1. Having the full offseason with no pressure to try and come back like last year will help. I'm also happy to see he and TD have been connecting.  If this team is smart, they go into next year with Chuba/Brooks/ETN and sign a Dowdle-light version in FA at minimum cost. Chuba is in his prime and a full offseason to fully recharge will only benefit him more. Dowdle is unfortunately a luxury item I don't think we can spend our money on. We still have other areas of need that we have to improve on the defensive side of the ball.
    • last time they loaded the box, shut down the run and forced BY9 to beat them, we saw the result of that. So what can we do this time to beat them? I suspect it's going to require a lot of short / intermediate passes with TE play to help
    • Floyd Mayweather Jr. made hundreds of millions off realizing this. He was an exciting boxer in his early days but watching his dad and uncle struggle with the effects of taking thousands of punches to the head he realized he was skilled enough to good guys without putting himself at risk and he'd just wait for other elite guys to lose a step before facing them. The whole WWE-esque "Money" persona was built around the realization that it doesn't matter if they're watching to see you win or watching hoping you'll lose, all that matters is that they're watching. Force them to love you or hate you, just make sure they care enough to tune in. We had a similar situation with Cam. Everyone felt some kinda way about Cam. You couldn't find many NFL fans who were neutral on Cam Newton. Is was love or hate but either way it was must see TV.
