Anthony Richardson Pro Day

So it's Anthony Richardson's Pro Day tomorrow (Thursday 30 March).

I gather the Panthers contingent has flown out today from the NFL meetings in Phoenix to meet him for dinner this evening.

What are we expecting from his Pro Day? What could he do to elevate himself into the conversation for #1 overall?

I was leaning Richardson when we were at 9 but, not at 1.  I think on a longer time horizon and with the right coaching staff, he can be a really special player.

Isn't this coaching staff, with their centuries of experience, the right staff to develop Richardson?

Why, yes, they are.  Could they get him ready to start by year 2?  Maybe.  Year 3 more likely but, what do I know.  Young and Stroud look much more ready to start this season.

I think if you look at the FA moves, I think we are be set up to ‘win now’ or ‘win sooner, not later’; not in 3 years.

I don't know if they're the right staff despite the experience. McCown has never coached at this level before and Frank might not have the time to devote to developing someone so raw. That said, the hope is that they are the right staff for any of the QBs.

I think they're trying to "win now" again as well. Hopefully, this time it doesn't bite them in the butt again.

There's no way to know for sure if he can ever be as accurate as the top two guys.  I wish McCown had gotten the AR video out before he got the QB coach job so we could could get a more honest read on how he feels at least

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
