I didn't say he has a strong arm.  He has an NFL caliber arm, he can make any throw with adequate velocity.  I'm fine if his arm is just average strength as long as he has other elite traits.

His ball placement is fantastic, and I preferred CJ once I watched the games a little...but, and there is a big but, I've not spoken with him, nor do I really know what I'm looking at like Frank and Co.

I'm hoping you are correct about his arm, but it looks to be lower 1/2=1/3 of the league to me....that said, that's not the end all be all for me, the arm is good enough.  Brees an Pennington made those types of arms work very well.  Manning 1 wasn't any Marino either.

Again, hope I'm wrong about his arm, but, between that and his inability or better said, his never playing under center....does concern me with designing an offense that isn't too easy to defend or figure out.

Exactly. If you take Bryce, you have to mold the Offense to him.

 

If you take Stroud. You just plug him in and go.

His starting point on arm strength is bottom half of the NFL. If he gets dinged up throughout the season and that takes a hit…yikes

Yeah I was surprised he admitted that pre-draft. Pretty scary thought. That also means he's hoping a DB or LB he can't see doesn't end up there before his receiver

I love how people NOW have a problem with Stroud's processing/anticipation...after the alleged S2 results. Nobody had a problem with his processing/anticipation watching the games. This includes Kurt Warner and his breakdown of Stroud's game against Michigan.

When you are trying to convince yourself to take the shortest QB in the Modern Era of the NFL. You have to find faults in the competition. 

 

Hopefully our staff can see past that ruse.

Seriously. It was considered one of his strong suits until a test that you take on a computer said he has bad processing. CJ Stroud was BY FAR the favorite for the #1 pick up until a few weeks after the combine and then suddenly fell off the face of the planet for some reason. It’s a little ridiculous how far the pendulum swung when nobody played a game or even threw a football in shorts.

      All these rankings have more to do with the writers love or hate for a team.  Morgan, IMO, has done a really good job at building this team.  Yeah, there are a couple of whiffs but for the most part he has done quite well drafting and signing free agents.  22 is a bit low but it's a stupid opinion based on how little a writer knows about the Panthers.

      When I saw that I was thinking the same thing.  If Evero does have a great season and gets hired as a head coach I wouldn't mind see McD as our DC.  If we do poorly as a team, I definitely would want him to be the front runner for HC.

      But it's not about not upsetting a player under contract, it's about not causing a rift in the locker room. The players love Bryce, whether as a person or a player doesn't matter.  You can't spend a Top 10 pick on a QB and then still start your #1 overall pick in the last year of their contract. That act alone will cause a massive locker room rift/distraction that would be unavoidable.  Some players will question why you "wasted" a Top 10 pick on a QB you're not going to start instead of someone who can help right away.  While others will question why we are keeping Bryce around for the season when it's clear he's not the future guy at that point. It would just make for a bad start to the rookie's career while causing locker room distractions.  Again, I'd bet this has never happened in this league before with any 1st round QB, let alone the #1 overall pick, and there is a reason for it, which is that it would be epically stupid to do. And I used the Vikings as the example as they're the closest I can think of, because again, there isn't a direct comparison as nobody has ever done it because it's that dumb of an idea (no offense lol).
