Trading up isn’t free lol. What they gave up to take a DE was stupid (and I think CJ will be a bust but that’s subjective)

Both of those takes are bad. They’ve got so much draft capital why not trade up for the best defensive player in the draft. Better to have one stud than three jags.

In what world is the #12 pick (higher than Burns was drafted just saying) and a probable top 5 pick in 2024 jags? Now THATS a bad take

Only to use one of them on a pass rusher.

So basically it's Burns for a 1st.

Good thing some of you dudes don't make these decisions. Premium pass rushers are the next most important position in football after the QB. You just don't get rid of elite pass rushers.

Did you just state the most obvious thing ever back at me and then go on a victory rant? Yes, of course we would’ve used one on a DE. That isn’t a breakthrough you just made man

So why trade Burns if we have to replace him at that same position with a player that most likely wont be as good as him?

That just doesn't make sense. Trading Burns only makes sense if we already have another DE who can replace his production on the roster.

It defeats the purpose of trading him. Understand now?

You can keep saying the same thing over and over again as much as you want. Yes you would need to replace Burns with a rookie DE or go buy one in FA. Yes you would have an extra first round pick (or 2 if you go FA). These are not new revelations.

Shi Smith and Damiere Byrd will be battling it out for a spot now.

Yeah, you got to think we carry 6 WRs max. I’m no particular order:

Thielen, Chark, Marshall, Shenault, Mingo, Byrd, Smith, Wright, Williams, Saunders.

The last 3 are probably gone but then you gotta decide between Bryd and Smith.

Unless there is a plan to make Laviska a RB.

Damn I hadn't watched many highlights but Mingo has some wheels for 6'2" 220lbs. Hopefully he's AJ Brown/Deebo. I guess the foot injury hurt his stock. Seems very confident in his car interview thing

Yea he can move and is is going to be a yac machine.

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
