Tampa has a above average roster just needs a competent qb

NO has a above average roster just needs a competent qb

ATL is loaded on offense, spent a lot of defense but needs a competent qb

Panthers have some good pieces, lacks depth but needs a competent qb

Its insanely early to be dropping the mic on this division on May 10th

Ya… sad part is, Tampa has much more of a complete roster, Perhaps NO too, Carolina is definitely in the 2-3 range on roster as a whole. To feign that Bryce isn’t a “competent” QB is just facepalm.

I don’t agree.  Tampa’s O-line is trash.  They lost their top RB.  Their pass rush is below average.  And they have the worst QB in the division.

Definition: “having the necessary ability, knowledge, or skill to do something successfully”

He was drafted number one. He’s a cerebral as fug. Nobody ever quested that. His only mark is his build/frame/stature. What ever you call it. Your really saying Bryce Young isn’t competent? Your saying he doesn’t have the brain to achieve success?

That’s like saying Connor Bedard isn’t competent at hockey even though he’s the most sought after #1 pick since probably Patrick Kane, maybe even Crosby(2007, 2005, respectively). Sure you have a bone to pick with the kid. That’s your problem. Calling him incompetent is just flat out rude. You could have said unproven, untested. But your ass is showing on this one.

He’s played 0 snaps in the nfl.  I’m going to hold off on proclaiming what he is until he actually does it.   And where did I call him incompetent?

    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
    • The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse
