For those of you begging for Cowher

Seems to me we are all jumping the gun. Lets see what happens the next 4 games. Both Fox's fate as well as Moore's may be determined by what happens in the next month. I am looking forward to seeing and hoping for the best. Problem is that many disagree what will be best. I hope we win all four. Others hope we lose so it forces change. I personally don't like the lose mentality since there is no guarantee he will be fired either way. So at least we could finish strong and perhaps find the quarterback of the future. But thats me and I don't have an agenda other than try and win each game.

Jake is far beyond being good even with better play calling. He's trash. Nothing will make him better. Whoever thinks we can win with Delhomme as QB is fooling themselves. What team have you been watching this season? How many 3+ INT games does it take from him to prove he's finished? When the season is done Jake will be 3rd string and that's if he'll even be on our team to begin with.

I also hate the Cowher to Seifert comparisons. Seifert was a product of Walsh. Seifert had hall of famers on his offense all chosen by Walsh. It was more of the talent that Walsh picked that carried Seirfert than the other way around.

1. Who the hell said he was "good"?

2. Agree or disagree: When you have arguably the best backfield in the league, smart playcalling can help mitigate bad quarterback play.

Not when you can't pass the ball at all due to an imcompetant QB. You need balance and you dont have that balance with Jake as QB. You need teams to respect the passing game too so that it opens up the run and teams don't respect the passing game with Jake as QB. That's why Jake should not even sniff the starting QB spot ever again. He had better playcalling and double trouble last year with our o-line and still registered the highest number of bad games he's ever had prior to this season.

I trust if Jake started the year as he did this year, Cowher would have sat his ass on the bench early.

Probably most Panther fans don't question Fox's coaching ability so much as his judgement of players and coaches, and the control he seems to have on them hindering their ability and their opportunity to perform their best.

It actually is a possibility, though in fairness not just for Cowher.

There's no guarantee the next head coach, whomever he may be, won't give Delhomme a shot in camp at keeping his starting job.

Jake is going to draw a 10 million dollar paycheck next season, he will get an opportunity to compete.

I am actually in favor of keeping Delhomme as a backup and mentor (what Rodney Peete used to be). If he can pass along his intangibles to a younger guy like Moore, it could help a lot.

He's definitely not a starter anymore, but any guy on the Panthers would tell you he's a good teammate. Pretty sure they'd agree with this option.

Cowher will bring a fresh face to us! We can start running a 3-4 defense! Let Peppers go where he wants, and try to get everything we can out of him. We did fine without Jenkins, and we'll be fine without Peppers. He'd tear the 3-4 up and play it well, but I say we just focus on getting Fox out first. Delhomme sucks, but he might play good under Cowher...Nah. Get rid of 'em both! Especially if we bring in Charlie Weis at Off Coor! OHHHWEEE!

I support this post.

    • https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/versatile-2nd-db-named-panthers-154026075.html Smith-Wade's ability to play corner, nickel and safety makes him valuable to a young defense trying to rebuild after finishing last in the NFL a year ago. "Chau took advantage of an opportunity,'' coach Dave Canales said. "He made tackles. He had an opportunity on an interception, and he made it.'' Our defense has got to come alive for us to have a chance of winning our Division!
    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.
