matt moore sucks

Did anyone else realize that the OP was being sarcastic?

I think everyone knows that Fiz is being sarcastic but it is too much fun to act like you think he is being serious. He gets all bent out of shape and mult-quotes everyone in the thread.

Moore didn't suck today. The problem is that he hasn't figured out how to win a game either by placing the team on his back either. Anyone believe he was going to win it with a long drive in the second half. From the first game he played you got the sense that Jake could win the game in the fourth quarter, if you were close. So far Matt doesn't look in command in the fourth quarter. So far in 2 games we have scored 9 points in the second half. Frankly the defense played well enough to win. The offense which was enemic before is even more anemic now. There is still time for him to improve. Still he is not giving any stirring performances destined to settle whether he can play as a starter in this league. If the best we can say is that he doesn't suck, we are in for a long next 3 weeks.

I thought he did alright. He could have played better but alot of his issues had to do with reps as well. And its not like Jake would have done better. I remember when several people on this site just wanted Moore in the game because we had to make a change. Now you expect him to blow your mind against one of the best teams/coaches in the league? He played fine, though he did look off today. Muhammad had several drops as well. Our defense sucked ass and we couldn't run up the middle all game.

in Brady's first five games as a starter(since he was his opponent today, not that I think we should measure Moore against brady at all):

13/23 for 168 yards and a QB rating of 79.6

12/24 for 86 yards and a QB rating of 58.7

33/54 for 364 yards 2 touchdowns and a QB rating of 93.4

16/20 for 202 yards 3 touchdowns and a QB rating of 148.3

25/38 for 203 yards 2 touchdowns 4 ints and a QB rating of 57.1

In Brady's case, they knew what they had in those first five games. but most QBs are not that way.

I am conflicted. Some of Moore's throws were very nice. But many of them were just thrown in bad places. He also didn't seem like he was aware of what was happening on the field, and in one case the playclock for sure (shoulda taken a timeout so they didn't end up with a sack there :()...

And yet nobody has mentioned the FANTASTIC job the o line did in the passing game today. And for the record, I'm not a Moore homer, but I am at least observant enough to realize that:

A. 5th career start in bad weather

B. Gross is out, bad pass pro today

C. Besides the running game and Smith(sometimes Rosario) we have no weapons

D. Jeff Davidson is the OC.

I realize the OP was just wanting to stir the pot and he's obviously done a good job. But people seem to miss out on the bigger picture here. Yes, Moore missed some reads and throws today and he has issues he needs to work on. But, I'm not willing to throw what is essentially a rookie Quarterback with some developable attributes to the wolves just yet.

He converted all 13 of his field goal tries with a 100% conversion rate that led all FBS kickers with at least 12 attempts. Fitzgerald was also perfect on his 14 extra points. He will compete with Matthew Wright for the Panthers’ kicking job in training camp. Harrison-Hunte went undrafted despite a strong showing at the Combine. He’s an older prospect who will turn 25 by the start of his rookie year, but he had just one season of sustained production at SMU after five years at Miami. Still, he earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2024 with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and will push for a roster spot in Carolina as an athletic interior disruptor.   more at the link https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/05/panthers-sign-19-undrafted-free-agents
