Steelers bracing for Colbert departure

But it has been assumed since Cowher left the team that if/when he returns as a coach he'll make a run at a reunion with Colbert. Indeed, on a couple of occasions over the past two years, we've caught wind of rumors that Cowher has placed Colbert and cap-and-contracts guy Omar Khan on stand by, in the event Cowher emerges from semi-retirement

This was reported earlier, either on ESPN or Fox, forget which.

It also said that if Colbert had to choose between loyality to Cowher or the Rooneys', he might choose the Rooneys.

Tell you what, if Jerry Richardson, wants a superbowl, and he's getting no younger, he could to far far worse than Cowher and Colbert.

It would be an exciting time in Charlotte, and there would be hope.

that would be the most prudent thing to say at the moment. bird in the hand > 2 in the bush or something like that.

i agree, we could do worse. we are doing worse.

that he could come in here with a GM buddy is something i don't have a problem with at all....especially considering the track record they have.

cowher's ability to surround himself with the right people is a huge deal.

if it's about money, why would the owner of the team suddenly bring in a crew that cares about winning, assuming the current regime does not
they'll probably plan on losing every other year just so they can get that easy schedule. superbowl every other year FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. please don't believe that i'm stupid enough to believe that is the way it works.

    • I only used it because it’s being said he can’t.  I’ve said this 100 times already but these deep passes people get obsessed with are much more on the WR than the QB. If Burrow throws a bomb to Chase and he is either wide open or makes a catch in tight coverage those both are more WR plays than QB to me.  Bryce has shown many flaws but I don’t think throwing the ball 20 yards to a player in coverage is something he or any NFL QB can’t do. He just gets sloppy under pressure and tries some Mahomes type backfoot throws that do require elite arm strength in which he does not have.
    • Again with the straw man arguments. You have Trump level of delusions about this subject.  Here, let me do you in this case.... I don't know if AT fuged your girl or your wife or whatever but your level of hatred towards a guy not even on the team is insane. I can't believe you keep hate watching all these Vikings games as a result. It's crazy behavior but, by all means, you do you.   Now...see how nutty that sounds? Go read this thread and see how emotional you are over something no one in this thread is talking about emotionally.
