It is just preseason.

And it will be just Week 1.

I've mentioned it a couple of times already. You won't get an accurate sense of what the team truly is until around midseason. If you doubt that, just look back to a couple of years ago when we started 4-0 when were talking playoffs.

Every single season there are teams who start off looking bad but finish strong and other teams who start strong but fade. This year will be no exception. If you can't see that, or can't handle it I can't help you.

My only hope is that we fall into the first category, but I'm not putting any lofty expectations on anyone given the circumstances.

Talk to me next year...

No change...

Oline played great TO AND the weapons let us down.. Know football before posting

Oh please. OL play breaking downright when they are needed most is not playing well.

I'm not saying things can't/won't improve, but today was not good overall. KnOw FoOtBaLl BeFoRe PoStInG.

Yeah I’m not surprised by what I just saw. They looked terrible in the preseason. I think people confuse the final score of a preseason game for the notion that the preseasOn games don’t matter. Because they do. They didn’t do anything positive in the preseason that made me think that a 63 year old washed up coach was playing his cards close.

When they needed it down 14?? Just stop.. They played great the whole game until it was clear we had to pass.. Run game had big holes and BY had all day to throw.. WR need to get open By needs to stop throwing Ints and RB need to protect the ball.. This game was is on BY and the weapons..

If you actually watch the preseason ppl were more worried about the  Oline and defense .. The Oline was a strength today and the defense was got pressure all day.. BY and the weapons were not showing they couldn’t get open or turning the ball over.. Did BY throw 1 int in the preseason??

OL wasn't an issue? Bryce was sacked 4 times and harassed almost every play In the second half. It absolutely was a problem.

Overall, no, OL wasn’t a problem. At least not in the game I watched. He generally had plenty of time to throw and receivers weren’t getting open.

You are the one claiming Atlanta could 'pin their ears back' but it was a 1-possession game for most of the second half and they collapsed. It was not a complete performance and not good enough, therefore was not a 'great game'. Pointing that out is not prohibitive of also acknowledging that the receiver gets sucked, Young was a young QB in his first NFL game ever, and the play calling was suspect.

I'm sorry, but it's this kind of nonsense that keeps Carolina in mediocrity. They were decent but not good enough, and the OL can improve just like everyone else.

Then you must not have watched most of the second half. They were not good enough, like the rest of the team. Still plenty of weeks to improve and I expect it will.

Literally didn’t get touched until the 4th quarter and they were down.. Other then that BY had all day and the RB had holes..

    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47371200/sources-rams-fire-special-teams-coordinator-chase-blackburn LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
