To be fair those players weren't helping us win games. So the point is kind of moot.

QB has been the #1 reason why we have sucked in the Tepper era.

Im banking on Bryce turning that around or at least I hope he does. If not Tepper has set us back even more as a franchise.

true, because we were a poorly built team.   So we cashed them in to build something new.  Under the direction of a new staff.  And first puzzle piece was a rookie QB they hope to build around.

Season is over. Why watch the team struggle?

this is weird mental gymnastics.  People who say we are rebuilding aren't not excited.  Rebuilding properly and doing it the correct way is exciting.

I can't wait to watch Bryce grow and to build around him.  That's why we drafted him.  To build something around a hopefully special player.  And this team will hopefully learn in time the best way to do that and the type players he will need to maximize his skill set.

Nothing was built even when we had them. We have sucked the entire CMC/Moore era.

They were great players, but it meant nothing if the QB didn't play up to par.

We got a QB now. Success will come more quickly having a QB who can actually move the chains. Skill players are nice but it means nothing without a legit QB.

yeah, that's being poorly built.  Having the skill position players but no QB.  And we trashed it all.

Now we drafted a QB, that we hope develops into what we think he can be.  And will start adding the talent around him he needs in the coming years.

Tom Brady wasn't Tom Brady his rookie year.  Peyton wasn't Peyton.  Cam wasn't Cam.  And Bryce won't be what we hope he can become either this year.

Right. Last years team and the previous teams built by whose name I will not mention were 6 win teams maximum.  Everything about those teams save a handful of players and 2 staff members were purged from BOA. Essentially, that era and team was wadded up and tossed in the trash.

#1 picks are bad teams.

People forget we didn't have the #1 pick we had to trade up for it!

This roster is not a rebuild roster. We have all our young talent on defense. The Oline is mostly vet guys. WR's are vets and Mingo/TMJ.

If that's rebuild then so be it.

Take a look at who your are arguing with. That should tell you all you need to know.

If Bryce even sniffs ROY, we will be fighting for a Playoff spot. Rebuilding teams don't fight for a Playoffs spot.

Give me your top 5 coaching staffs in the NFL and show me where you got the one of the best in the NFL Carolina staff?   The All Star staff.

They are all stars in comparison to Matt Rhule's assembled staff.   Which I acknowledge.

Frank + a first year OC who isn't calling plays + a DC with 1 year in the books in the role ......is not one of the best coaching staffs in the NFL.

We are in a fine spot w/ our coaching staff.  Best spot we have been in of late.  No need to then exaggerate it.  We have young talent.  That's a good thing.  Potential isn't proven though.   And we likely need Frank to get out the way and be a HC and see what we got in the OC.  Because we know what we have in Frank the playcaller.  And that's pedestrian playcalling at the NFL level to date.  The primary knock of the HC.

I could find a dozen more talking about the staff and their quality and experience. Stop while you are behind. You are convincing no one you are right  and clearly are in the minority. Of course nothing is proven until after it happens but by  all accounts this is the best staff we have ever assembled and it is considered one of the best in the NFL. Time will tell.

Cool.  Give me your top 5 staffs in the NFL.  Heck do a top 10 if you prefer.   Just list the ones that are better.  You can stop when you get to the Panthers.

Plenty of people here have talked about the comical overhyping of everything post Rhule around here.  Including this best in NFL coaching staff.

Finding articles saying they hired a bunch of experience is just that.  Which I acknowledged.   It's also vastly better than Rhule's.  Being a massive upgrade over Rhule doesn't make it a top staff in the NFL.

Dom Capers and Jim Caldwell being consultants don't make this one of the best staffs in the NFL.  It means you can write articles about the years in the league accounted for here.  They are 70 year olds.   Tepper just did a 180 to the extreme post Rhule.    And Frank is stepping on the young talents toes by doing the playcalling.  Which he isn't very good at to date in the NFL.  His strengths are elsewhere.

In no particular order

KC

Buffalo

San Fran

Philly

Miami

Rams

Giants

Panthers

Jacksonville

Cincinatti

I left off some teams with great head coaches but suspect staffs like Belicheck and Carroll and Harbaugh.

No one said it was the best but it is top 10. At least 2 staff members are going to be in line for head coaching jobs in 2023. How many staffs can say that in August.

Our staff is pretty solid.  One of the better ones Carolina has assembled.  Caldwell and Capers have a ton of experience to pair with an experienced decent HC in Reich.  Evero and Brown are both young upcoming coordinators who were both being interviewed for head coaching positions just this past offseason.  Both Tabor and Campen are well respected and good at OL/Special Teams.  McCown and Hall are rookie coordinators/assistants who both played in the league for a long time.  It's a great combo of experience (Reich, Caldwell, Capers), Upcoming future Head Coaches (Evero, Brown), seasoned specialists (Tabor, and Campen), and new rookies (McCown and Hall).

There is a lot of talent and I am interested to see how they all work together these couple years.

    • I went to Canes games back in '04 & '05 when you were probably still a swimmer waiting to make your dad a father. There was no one there bc they sucked. Some of the lowest attendance in the NHL. As a Panthers fan coming off a SB season (03-04), I couldn't even believe they put a hockey team in Raleigh, and given the attendance, a lot of people speculated they would be relocated somewhere back up north where they would be supported and not "Mayberry." Seriously, educate youself.  That is reality. That being said, comparing that environment to 2024 Canes would be disingenuous. I was at PNC last year and know how great the current environment is. Comparing the current environment at BOA to 10 years ago is just as disingenuous.  Just bc you didn't witness how good BOA is when the Panthers are actually decent doesn't change reality. Seriously, surely you see that coming from such an elitist environment like the globally renowned world-class city of Raleigh, NC... I guarantee you if you went to a Canes game and a Panthers game in 2005, the difference would be unreal bc the Panthers were awesome and the Canes were (at the time) a moribund franchise. I have been in BOA when the whole stadium was rocking. You simply are young, don't know what you're talking about, but want to portray yourself as having knowledge about things you simply don't. You have a lot in common with modern day politicians and televangelists Like I said, Idiocracy has prevailed... Have a great day too!
    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
