Chubb is getting 22m a year and Burns is gonna get more than that. He's gonna be closer to Garret and Bosa than to Chubb. No other way about it.

Then it’s a front office failure.   Should of traded him.

No other way about it.

and that’s why teams like the Eagles win and we don’t.   They paid an elite pass rusher 15 a year.  A better one than Burns.

Look at the athletic article thread, been trying to tell everyone he was asking for Bosa level money.

I'm sure we're gonna get called kids, children, etc., by those who are emotionally attached to Fitterer and excessive use of emojis, but it has to be said.

He's the next casualty on this ship.

If he was the one who decided to turn down the Rams offer and then they ultimately lose Burns in FA or have to deal him for a much lower haul, it is a pretty big indictment.

Problem for him is even if it was Tepper who put the brakes on the Rams deal, Fitterer is in the fall guy position.

As somebody said on this or one of the 372 other Burns threads, once you turned down that deal, you better start talking about an extension.  I get it, the didn't have any idea who would be the HC or what the DC was going to run, but you have already shown you hand.

I’m not saying he isn’t arguing for it.  I’m saying the Panthers shouldn’t pay that and if they drastically overpay him it’s a front office failure.  Fitt should have traded him.

I can't even blame Burns. Some moronic team will pay him 30+ mill a year and be regretting it after a year. Sadly, it will probably be us

Tapper was fine with trading the face of the franchise just a week earlier. He didn’t stop anything involving Burns.

If we lose Burns for less than 2 firsts, he should 100% be fired

You can’t get 2 first for him now. That was a desperate team being desperate and we opted not to take advantage….and then put ourselves in a poor negotiating position.

Oh they won't pay 30m, he'll get something around 25-27m a season and have a high guarantee amount above what Garret and Watt got.

The Panthers think he's worth 23-24m a season. That's what they came at him with and well he didn't say yes..  let's say that.

Why would he say yes. After that non-trade, they cost themselves 7-10M/yr on his deal. Burns and his agent know this.

I think we are the only team dumb enough to think Burns and 30ish would go together.   And his team frankly has us in a weird spot when we turned down a trade we frankly should have made.

The front office remains a problem.

    • If we went LB at 19, the LB at 51 better be head and shoulders the BPA on our board. I was thinking more like 1st or 2nd and then double dipping in the mid-rounda But yeah, if we went LB back to back jn the 1st and 2nd and they turned out like Star and Short I don't think anyone would be complaining. Well, not many anyway. There's always gonna be a few no matter what. LOL
    • I have been doing a bunch of mock drafts and this one interesting scenario popped up that made me question myself. I know our needs edge, mike, OT,wr, and secondary. This situation Love fell to 19 and I know we don't NEED a RB. But if we stay out at 19(I don't think we do) I don't think I could say no to love. If this team really believes in BPA and love is there at 19 who realistic is better than love at this point? Love is a top 5 talent, there is no akeem messador or Caleb banks or Kenyon Sadiq type player I think I would rather have than love. He would make Bryce life much easier, he's a homerun threat on a offense that lacks speed. He's essentially modern day Reggie bush to me and I think he could play alongside Chubba on passing down potentially as a slot and be the speed threat we really need. I think it's a bit crazy but I would be willing to wait til the second round and see who falls at edge(I think we land Chubb or loyd in free agency) maybe chase TJ parker if he falls or Rodriguez or golliday in the second/third. What say you?
