Panthers Playbook intelligent discussion

This should be a refreshing video for those that are less reactionary and more analytical.

Just to give a general recap in my own words.

Reich has stunk it up so far. Play calling is "crap!"

Reich doesn't trust Bryce, even to the point where he opened up the offense for Dalton, but went back to his vanilla vanilla vanilla playbook for Bryce.

Reich's clock management is horrendous, which is really unforgivable for a guy who has been in the league so long.

We won the TOP, by almost a third of the game, but we lost.

Motion and pre-snap movement is few and far in between to nonexistent.

Our play calling is too predictable, even to the point where the defense (this time, Harrison Smith in particular timed his rushes).

Our defense actually held the third most prolific passing offense in check, but our run defense is abysmal.

Burns is being misused.

Chuba is probably our best RB.

YGM is growing right before our eyes.

Bryce needs to work on some things---he's a rookie, duh, but Reich isn't doing him nor our offense in general any favors. Stroud and Richardson wouldn't be doing nearly as good as they are if they were here.

Again, Reich sucks.

I'm starting to think the coaching staff might not be the issue when it comes to how to use Chinn...

I thought the past two games Chinn played very well.  Because of injuries he is a true nickel CB.  If someone else rises up, hopefully he can play closer to the LOS.

    • Ultimately it's up to the other safety prospects to clearly outplay Scott. I think when that happens on tape against other teams it'll be addressed. I think none of them have done that definitively and consistently yet.
    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
