The more I listen to Fank and Buck on WFNZ

The more I think they are a total joke, they have discussed to the point of ad nauseam since the middle of training camp whether Fox has or is about to lose the team, which as we all know he did not.

And now to one up themselves in the theater of the absured they have said that "Jake Delhomme" and not Matt Moore will start next season at which piont I shut the radio off.

Seriously WTF, I know they have to say things to get people to call and listen but why say such stupid things? Now unlike some here I hold no hard feelings towards Jake but come on even the most hardend Jake supports aren't interested in seeing him start again in Carolina.

As much as I hate to say it, if Fox is back next year, Jake WILL go into Training camp as the number 1! He may lose it there but I don't see anyway Jake isn't the starter come training camp. The organization has to much invested in him to ride the pine! Not to mention you cannot lose your job due to injury! Sucks I know but look for Jake in '10

Following this team for any decent amount of time, one shouldn't be surprised if Jake ended up the starter again. I don't know why it would piss somebody off to hear this from anyone. I don't agree with it, but its certainly possible.

It is the worst show on the radio, hands down. Frank and Buck have NO business putting on a show. Former players are good for a one hour guest spot a week on someone elses show. Frank is a stuttering moron, and Buck's use of street grammar is a laugh.

That said, I think they're right. Nobody knows who was the driving force behind Jake starting. Was it JR or was it Fox? Either way, until he got "injured", he was our starter. He's due $12m next season and he is still technically our starter. EVERYBODY and their mom knows Moore should start...but like they said on F&B, it's politics. They'll want Jake to start until he bombs knowing they have Moore on the bench ready to go. Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench for a good bit, as did Steve Young. I can easily see them having no issues sitting Moore on the bench for a season or two more as long as Jake doesn't implode. It sucks, I hate it, but I'm 90% sure Jake will start next season.

Please stop with the stupidity. There are two things in play here that have never been a factor in the past:

1. Jake has been AWFUL this season. He has never had a year or even more than 2 games in a row where he has been consistently bad.

2. There has never been a legitimate threat to supplant Jake as the QB. Weinke wasn't going to get it done and neither was McCown. Finally, someone has emerged and has put pressure on the coaches to make a change.

For all of you on this board who keep assuming that Jake is still firmly entrenched as the starter and that Fox would never start anyone else, blah blah blah, you cannot point to a time where Fox ever really had a legitimate QB controversy to contend with. For those of you who want to say the AZ game and the second half of last year, I would like you to consider whether those few games were legitimately enough to break the bank on a high first round QB choice considering Jake had 6 solid seasons and a Super Bowl appearance prior to that.

I don't agree with the decision to offer a fat extension but to think that he couldn't still be a starter and to come into camp with status quo at the QB position is at least understandable.

Now that everyone knows and its clear that Jake is no longer what he used to be, the coaches will obviously not just throw him back there by default. You can't even make an argument for it now and Fox knows that. He wasn't born yesterday. Moore goes into next TC as the 1 and we'll see what he can do from there. Jake will be in competition with McCown for 2 and 3.

Im gonna have to agree here that Jake will start in 2010. It dose not make since but it didnt make since for him to start last year so poorly and not get benched. I would not be surprised if Moore dose not start 3rd on the depth chart once again. Fox dose not like Moore and that was clear all season long.

JR can expect a mutiny of sorts if Jake Delhomme is the starter next year. That stadium will be E-M-P-T-Y with the John Fox/Jake Delhomme combo.

That would be like the Cowboys starting Drew Bledsoe the year after Tony Romo emerged. Jake needs to retire and leave this team the hell alone...

Oh Really?

1. Jake has been AWFUL this season. He has never had a year or even more than 2 games in a row where he has been consistently bad.

May I have some of what your smoking please? Seriously? More than 2 games in a row? ROFL

2. There has never been a legitimate threat to supplant Jake as the QB. Weinke wasn't going to get it done and neither was McCown. Finally, someone has emerged and has put pressure on the coaches to make a change.

The same legitimate threat you are speaking of now has been on the bench the last 3 years, this isn't his rookie season

Considering we only have 3 winning season with him at the helm I wouldn't say he has had 6 solid season!

I don't agree with the decision to offer a fat extension but to think that he couldn't still be a starter and to come into camp with status quo at the QB position is at least understandable.

MMMM HMMMM

I, along with everyone else, wish!

For those admiting there's no reason behind it but think will start anyway, think about it, the coaches aren't complete idiots and of for no other reason then to help them to the next job they won't start Jake.

I am really surprised there are this many who think he will start.

And in all seriousness if you honestly think Jake will start next season you need to have your head exaimind.

The whole reason I started this thread was because I thought Frank and Buck have lost they're minds and for me to turn around and see this many people say "yeah it's going to happen" while they themselves admit there's no reason for it is just wow

There are about 13 million reason why he will be the starter going into next season; not to mention the deeply embedded man love from Fox...anyone that thinks HE WILL NOT go in as the starter needs to stop looking through rose colored glasses and realize this isn't the first time Jake has sucked A$$ and remained the starter! Face it the man starting now was THIRD on the DC at the beginning of the season! Fox doesn't seem to like Matt Much...sad but the proof has been there for a while now!

Admitting they made a 13 million dollar mistake may hurt them more than starting him, depending on if Smitty, can double trouble and bail Jake out like they have every other year until now!

    • Many layers my frend- Panthers had a draft recently. They picked 4 defense players. Each player picked 11, 22, 33, 55 as their number. For some players that number match the round or pre-draft round rank, example- Prince was a 3rd rounder and choose 33. Nic was a 1st rounder on some mock drafts and Dan Morgan said they had him as a 1st, he picked 11. Cam Jackson recently switched his number to 55, same as draft and has been telling Dave he wants to be special over and over.  The 44 was to add GOAT feels, thoughts, and more intrigue to this rookie phenomenon. X files was cause it was a great TV show and maybe it was playing when this theory came together.......   I hope this helps!
    • The best things Purdy has are certainly important tools for any QB. His accuracy his timing his decision making etc. I feel like he is a high end Teddy Bridgewater. You can compete and win in the regular season with this especially in a weakened NFC but where his limitations come into focus is when you are trying to contend for a Super Bowl you are going against elite and in some instances generational QB's like Mahomes. And when the time has come for him to go up against Mahomes he simply can't get it done. Now certainly he is not alone in that regard and people will point to another highly regarded QB such as Josh Allen who also cannot get by Mahomes. But the difference I see is Allen is not IMO at a phsyical disadvantage in that matchup whereas Purdy is. And that is with what had been to this point a comically stacked roster around Purdy and let's be clear we cannot understate that regardless of which side of the fence we land on in this debate. Purdy has had a top 5 roster and a top 5 coach. And the last time they went to the Super Bowl they leaned on McCaffrey extremely heavily. Now with what they are having to pay him and divert limited resources elsewhere they face a steep climb to get back to the Super Bowl let alone actually win it.
    • Lonzo mentioned Melo going to the Clippers, but he also said we would draft Dylan Harper and he isn't making it to 4.
