Favorite Panther wins and worst losses

What are your favorite wins and worst losses of all time? It's interesting to hear every team's. I can think of one Panther win that you guys would remember and that was most devasting for me was back in 99 or 2000. I was sitting in comfirmation class of all places and my Pastor(our confirmation teacher who is a huge Packer fan turned on the radio. It was the last play of the game and the Pack was leading 27-24 over Carolina. You guys were at our 1 yard line going in for a score. I think the qb maybe Kerry Collins at the time ran it in for you guys and we lost at home in lambeau 31-27. I remember our whole confirmation class who was all Packer fans went into depression after that. Good times though now when you think about it.

I'll always remember the Dallas game when Mills, Lathon and Greene demolished Deion Sanders and Michael Irving. I remember laughing my butt off when Deion was hauled away, sprawled out on a golf cart, with his eyes rolled back in his head. Then there is the memory Michael Irving getting up with wobbly legs and pulling turf from his teeth. It was sweet! And of course, losing the SB was a wicked loss - but still one of the best Super Bowls I've ever seen!

losing the superbowl is a fairly good candidate for worst loss, i'd say

despite this season sucking, some of my favorite wins have come out of it... that game against arizona was a thing of beauty, as was shutting down the vikes and especially the giants.

tampa bay game on MNF last season was up there too... they still haven't recovered from the beatdown, over a year later :D

Favorite wins:

Win over the Packers 2001? Steve Beuerlein calls his own number and stretches the ball into the endzone. (I wish someone could find a picture or video of that)

Win over the Rams 2003

Win over the Bears 2005 (so much trash talking by chicago fans)

Win over the Patriots 2005

Worst Loses:

Loss to the Patriots 2003 SB

Loss to Seattle 2005 playoffs (would have won that game with RBs)

Loss to Arizona 2008 playoffs (another jake meltdown)

agreed..... i live in chicago and it was horrible to have to listen to their fans before that game. plus i was at the regular season game when we lost... so winning the second time made it soooo much better.

My favorite wins:

1)The playoff game against St. Louis during our Superbowl year. Steve Smith catching the post and sprinting between the safeties to win the game in overtime.

2)The beat down we put on Tampa last season...a favorite for 2 reasons. They are a rival and it was on MNF for everyone to see.

3)Basically every win in 2003...remember we were known as the "Cardiac Cats"?

Worst losses:

1)last years AZ playoff game...enough said.

2)2005 season NFC championship game in Seattle. We hammered NYG and Chicago and then absolutely got man-handled by Seattle 34-14.

Worst losses-

96 championship game vs Green Bay

03 Super Bowl vs Gaytriots

08 Divisional vs Crudinals

05 NFC championship vs Seahawks

I harbor a great distaste for the Patriots and the Cardinals, the two NFC championship games didn't bother me as much because the 96 Packers are a very very underrated team and pretty much outclassed the 96 Panthers. As for the Seahawks... we were just badly injured, and besides, the Super Bowl that year was rigged for the Steelers.

Now for the best wins...

03 vs Jaguars

05 vs Falcons (the 44-11 game, never forget)

05 vs Patriots

05 vs Giants NFC wild card game

03 NFC championship vs Eagles

08 vs Chargers

08 vs Bucs

96 Division vs Cowboys

One of the worst regular season losses I remember was in 1999 (I think) against the Redskins. Biankabatuka ran wild that day, we got a big lead on the Skins, and blew it in the second half. And of course we missed the playoffs by one win that year, losing the spot to the Dallas Cowboys (yet another reason to hate them).

    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
    • My top-5 JAGS: 1. Tommy Tremble: May not ever be top-tier, but has been solid and you never doubt the effort. 2. Cade Mays: Not bad for a 6th rounder. Hated to see him go. 3. Brady Christensen: One of the most versatile backup OLs in the NFL. Hopefully we re-sign him. 4. Trevis Gipson: Quietly was really solid depth last season. Glad we brought him back. 5. Brycen Tremayne: Has been solid depth at WR, flashing at times last year.
    • He wasn't a JAG, he's been a starter every year of his career. Didn't turn into the superstar it seemed like he might his rookie year, but I think part of that has been being misused. Guy was/is a baller.
