Our roster

Watching this Niners game and it’s night and day how well run their personnel is. Their roster is LOADED!! Same salary cap we are operating with and our team looks like a high school team compared to these guys. Linebackers looking dope. D line getting pressure. Loaded on offense. Great coaching definitely helps but my god….we are sooooooooo far behind being competitive with the top tier teams. Same. Fugging. Salary. Cap. And they are coming off the heels of one of the worst trades for Trey Lance of all time. Maybe there’s hope but Fitt has to go.

When it come to handling the GM position at the NFL level, John Lynch is clearly on another level than Scott Fitterer. Lynch and his coaches/scouts are actually good at evaluating talent. I don’t think Scott has drafted a player who could start on a contender outside of JC Horn (an elite player when healthy). I think Brady C would be a solid swing lineman and spot starter on any team in the league. Outside of those 2, I really can’t think of anyone else from the 2021-2023 drafts who stands out when they are on the field…at least not in a good way.

Thats because they have hit on some of their late round draft picks! Fred Warner, Kittle, Debo, even Purdy! We can't even hit on our first rounders, what do you expect? We are many years away from having a solid team. At the same time it did take the 49ers time to get to this point. We need a GM who can draft, not Fitt.

Exactly my point. The whole reason they are where they are is because their personnel staff is killing it. Our personnel dept is trash and you see the dumpster juice that is the panthers roster

They have recognized and accepted their identity. We're still searching for ours...

Don’t get carried away. They made one of the worst trades of all time and lucked into Purdy.

Your post was the 3rd one posted after mine. I basically said the same thing before you backed up my post with your chart. Drafting that many non-impact players is an indication that our FO is a poor at evaluating talent or the coaches are unable to get the best out of the players taken in the draft. Something has to change if Tepper sincerely wants to win in this league.

I mentioned that above but even if you throw that out, they still have a loaded roster. Even if they whiffed on Purdy and had Jamarcus Russell on their team at QB, their roster is loaded.

Even without Purdy, the 49ers went to a Super Bowl in 2019 with Jimmy G and were a consistent playoff threat with him behind center when he was healthy. SF was good before Purdy joined the team.

Get rid of both Fitterer and Morgan.  Dan was a hell of a MLB for us but I really dont want anyone Fit trusts working for us anymore.  Clean house- the whole of the front and coaches.  Put a football person in charge.  Remove tep and his squeeze from the equation.  And in a few years we can start winning games again.

    • I just don't think some guys have it. Darnold has the panic gene. I don't think there's any fixing it. He looks really good as long as the play develops as drawn up or if he gets pressured immediately and has to go to his check down right away. It's when he has decent protection and his first read isn't open and he's standing back there in the pocket with that panic slowly building. That's when he does disastrous poo.
    • based on the QBs drafted #1 comparison thread, he’s right where he should be. if your expectations were to have a rookie lead us to the playoffs without an OL and WR corps, maybe your expectations were a bit off.
    • at some point, though, you just have to suck it up and accept it and deal with the bad deal you got.  you go through funks where you keep making mistakes and hope that you get it figured out sometime soon, but in the learning process you realize you could have done some things better but you're stuck with decisions you make. you have two choices...whine about it or just brush it off and hope can make the situation you put yourself work. i know a lot of people in here have probably never experienced or dealt with failure much in their lives, but i have and i learned to just suck it up and try to make the best of the situation you've got yourself in because you realize that you're stuck with it for a while. doesn't do any good to keep harping over what you wish you had done better. you already know that. now it's just about moving forward from here and making the best of it and hoping you can make something of it. it's the easiest thing in the world to look at where Bryce falls short...and yes, that was intentional. everyone knows that and all that is done is beating that horse laying on the ground. what takes some work is trying to see how it can work and if they have done and are doing things to help the situation get better.
