Disappointing response from Hubert when he was asked if there's anything to be learned from this game.

It's just who he is. We do what we do, no matter what. I guess he's never going to try to be a more strategic coach and seek to exploit specific match up advantages. Just roll the ball out there and hope my guys are better than their guys.

I wouldn't even consider that trash talk. It's soft and you're having a fit over it.

State will probably lose by 20 in the first round and fatty will have 6 points on 2-13 shooting. We just didn't match their energy tonight. They wanted it more and that's what's embarrassing.

For someone that said they didn't care about winning the tournament, you're taking the L badly. As you said, State wanted it more and they handled business unlike the Heels. They, like their fans, seemed to think the game was in the bag before it was even played.

You don't get it. I don't care about the ACC tourney. I care about losing to state.

I'm not a big college basketball guy but NC State palpably had something going into that game, you could feel it.  UNC seemed kind of loose in the pre game whereas NC State looked torqued up to about 11.

I don't doubt that State was hyped up for the game. It was the closest they had come to winning any sort of title in years. And they pulled out the win.

That's what Carolina has to be ready for every time they play state and I really don't think they get it.

The rivalry is just one way now and has been for many years. State should be embarrassed by that and the fact that they’ve all become Duke fans since their program has been trash since the 80’s. I would love for State to be relevant, it’s good for UNC and the ACC as a whole, but the fact is they are a worse program than many mid majors and they should be ashamed. The ACC title game was their national championship. UNC should have been ready for that. Embarrassing loss to a bad team and bad program with a 1 seed potentially on the line.

The ACC program I kinda miss being relevant is Wake. Those were some great games.

Idk what the guys in pre game were saying, just telling you the facts. Like yeah UNC was a projected 1 seed going into the game, that doesn’t mean that can’t change with a bad loss and a huge win from a team they are otherwise neck and neck with. The only thing they had on Iowa State before tonight was one less loss. Give that up in a loss to a non tourney team what do they have?

You were saying?  Iowa State’s non-conference schedule was shet

    • With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite.    But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him.  He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year.  They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery.  I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.
    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
