I don't get to watch too many games wall to wall. I wasted hours today when I should have been sleeping.

I knew it would be bad, but not this bad. I'm not even angry. For the first time, I'm convinced that this franchise is broken all the way down to its foundation from day 1--and that precedes Tepper. We're just seeing it come to full effect now.

Aside from a miraculous recovery over the next year or so, they may be in move-the-team-and-have-a-fresh-start mode like the Browns when they moved to Baltimore. The Toronto Panthers will be an awesome franchise someday.

This may be the worst that they have ever looked, and I've been with them since day 1.

The Browns were leading the AFC and on their way to the SB that year.  Art Modell raped Cleveland.  The team and franchise were in great standing before a greedy owner screwed them.

The Panthers aren’t the pre-move Browns.  We’re much much worse.

It's the whole offensive philosophy, trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.  Reich and Brown don't know how to adapt and that's a condemnation on their skills as coaches.

Evero is running his preferred 3-4 defense with a lot of 2nd and 3rd stringers who don't necessarily fit what he wants to do, but at least he has them playing at a decent level.

Reich, Brown, Fritt gotta go.

Then this offseason we gotta tear it down and the Teppers have to get outta the way.

We had signs that Brown was a dud since his playbook was what has been used all season--regardless of playcaller.

Didn't Brown interview with Houston for their HC job? If the fate of the universe rested on them answering the question of who they're happier that they didn't end up with--Bryce or Brown--what would their answer be?

Oh, and while I like Eddy, the fact that he felt liberty to shrug his shoulders after his miss spoke volumes to me. It's fine to feel that way on the inside, but I never thought I'd see a kicker on a bad team get to shrug his shoulders. I don't care if they asked to kick at 70 yards.

It's because he knew he had no chance to make it before he walked out on the field. Frank obviously doesn't give a poo. Why should he?

My point is not that they were so bad that they moved. My point is that once they moved they were like a totally different franchise. They're always in the SB contender conversation, and have won twice. Their impact on the league was totally different and they have been afforded a deference, prime time TV, etc that is significant. I think they have done much better year over year in Baltimore than Cleveland--even though they were in Cleveland much longer. Maybe the move was a coincidence, but it's a flashpoint that you can also point to.

Brisbane - understood, but I feel like you’re comparing two very different scenarios.  Ozzy, a Browns legend, turned out to be an amazing GM and built around a strong core by adding future HOF talent in the draft.  He made a historically strong franchise even better.  Albeit in a new city.  We have NONE of that.

However, my honest fear is that we’ve got another George Schinn in CLT now.  When the city doesn’t want to cough up a BILLION dollars for what we’re seeing on the field, he’ll uproot the team for a football desperate city (or country) that will.  Will they win in a new town?  Who knows, but Tepper won’t care because he cares about $, not football.

One is a UDFA. The other was a #1 overall pick in a huge trade up.

Bryce also had two INTs dropped. In the clutch Bagent completed a 10 yard pass to seal the game. We tried a 59 yarder because we knew we couldn't do the same. Those things don't show up in the boxscore but they matter a LOT.

Yeah, Bagent thoroughly outplayed him.

Bagent also got 31 carries for 121 yards and a TD from his run game. Young got 13 carries for 25 yards from his. A good run game helps a QB. Despite all that, their performances were equal.

So no, he only thoroughly outplayed him in your mind. Because 2 weeks ago, you didn’t say Young thoroughly outplayed Stroud when statistics and the things that don’t show up in the box score proved it.

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
