Deion is building that OL through the transfer portal. The star of his haul so far is a 6'2" 275 pounder from 3-9 UConn.

Another transfer from Indiana guy played 12 games only allowed 1 sack. Deion is rebuilding that Oline slowly but surely.

Drake Maye will skip his Bowl Game and declare for the NFL Draft. Duke's QB is transferring to Notre Dame to start, and will miss his Bowl Game as well.

As he should. He's done enough for UNC.

Kinda glad. I really didn't want to go to that bowl anyway but I had committed myself to it if Drake played.

No players who have a legit shot of being drafted should play in a meaningless exhibition game especially one called the Mayo Bowl. Too much money at risk.

Tim not only talks about Maye going pro, but dives into what UNC and other schools should be pitching to guys in the portal and HS when recruiting them.

Everyone knows I'm a massive Heels fan. Heels > Panthers all day everyday. Just the way it is.

But I detected no lies. I pissed off a lot of Carolina fans for saying this time last year that Drake should take the SEC bag and transfer. It was in his best interests. I'm gonna do it again this year. Omarion Hampton should take the bag and transfer. Imagine him running behind a Georgia or Alabama OL. If we have a significant drop off in QB play (virtually guaranteed, getting Howell/Maye caliber QBs back to back is just unheard of for UNC level programs) and we're also losing our #1 WR, it's very possible he's looking at at a lot of stacked boxes next year. With the devaluation of the RB position in the NFL, RB draft stock can be a very fickle thing. A QB that checks every prototype box like Maye can have a drop off and still be an elite prospect. A RB can't.

Mack should do the right thing and retire. If he doesn't he should be forced out. His age is a huge hurdle to overcome in recruiting and his team has regressed over the course of the season every year. He's just too old to do the job at this point. He accomplished what he came here to do which was get the program out of the gutter and rebuild recruiting pipelines. Mission accomplish. Ride off into the sunset to the beach house now.

I hadn't heard of Tim until a few weeks ago, but yeah, he doesn't hold back and seems more right than wrong with his takes. He brought up that doing what Carolina did with Howell and Maye was highly unusual too. And yeah, Maye probably should have transferred from UNC last year.

I don't see Mack retiring until his contract expires unless his health takes a turn for the worse. He seems perfectly happy cashing those checks.

It doesn’t. Attendance is at like 50%(averaged) for most teams. It’s actually a huge problem for the sport and the commissioner is losing his poo over it.

The big teams (Yankees, Braves, Dodgers etc...) carry the other teams.  The Dodgers average almost 50,000 a game over 81 games and gets 40 bucks or more per ticket.  Oakland averages about 10,000.

    • That was a good segment. Watched every minute of it and would highly recommend it to all fans.
    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
