Is this mfer (Tepper) making all of our draft picks too?

No, but he doesn't have to...

Even if he only influences the highest draft picks and a few of the major free agent decisions, that's bad enough.

He needs to stay completely out of all football decisions or little is going to change.

Here's where I think the ultimate bottom line is for us...

The word is out all over the league on David Tepper.

No good coach is going to come here if they have to submit to weekly meetings with the owner.

No good GM candidate is going to come here if they expect that the owner is going to meddle in their decisions.f

So if we  really wants to get a good candidate, David Tepper is going to have to make radical changes in the way he operates. Candidates could conceivably even ask him to agree in writing to stay out of things.

It's just that bad 😕

I doubt he is the only owner in the league who talks to their coaches on a weekly basis.

Not to mention, if you look like the worst team in the league you might need talking to.

All this meddling talk is overblown.  How many draft decisions did Tepper overrule the GM (Or coach if he had final say) on?

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
