2022 panthers vs 2023. Final score?

Just for funsies. Say last year’s team plays this year’s team. Final score and stand out performances.

2022 squad 31. 2023 squad 10.

2022 beats the brakes off this clown show. 230 rushing yards. Dalton only has to throw 17 times for 160 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 pick. 2023 wants nothing to do with Ickey and Foreman. Bryce gets sacked 4 times, twice by Luvu. Bryce gets picked once. 2022 team goes in to the locker room pumped and ready for the next week.

Would this current clown show have even been capable to keep it close?

hmm yes would Burns and his 55th ranked pass rush skills while playing for a contract be able spin passed the sophomore slumping icky to sack the make a wish kid we have playing QB before he's able to throw to our only receiver covered by what ever corner isn't injured???

I'm going to say this year we would win.  Our defense is better and with Wilke's one-sided offense if you stop the run you win.  It's funny to hear people praising Sam Darnold now like he was good.  Our pass defense was suspect last year and the Bucs showed us how bad it was.  As goodnas you imagine that 2022 team to be we only scored 6 more points vs the Bucs with the playoffs on the line and gave up 30. We barely beat the Saints by scoring 10 points. The only advantage Wilkes would have is that he wouldnt let Darnold throw it twice in a row with 1 yard to gain.

Do you have to start young or can it be a Dalton led team? I would take Dalton vs Darnold any day.

Very good question.

Dalton all day annd it’s not even close. that completely changes the dynamic. Scoring Edge goes to 2023 in that case. Dalton opens everything up while Bryce shuts everything down. He’s the biggest offense killer I’ve ever seen.

Horn on Thielen, but who can run with Chark? If Dalton had played every game, Mingo would be so much further along. the dink and dunk does not fit his game.

… wow, 1 piece completely changes the dynamic.

We would have had a chance if Sam Darnold was the QB.  People suddenly can't even remember the last game he played here.  42 yards and 2 INTs.  Sam Darnold could wake up any given day and try to give a game away.  We definitely would have chance because bad Sam Darnold could show up any time.

If we faced the 2022 PJ Walker Wilks Monster Squad variant.....we lose by 100.

And yet it's not even on the table until well into next year. Big sad

    • Yes, but those guys aren't depth guard signings, they're likely going to wait and see who has injuries or players under performing and then sign there. I also think that if Ickey really is going to be able to play at some point this year, that's where our guard depth comes from.  As if he gets to the point of being active, we'd then have 3 LT's on the roster with him, Freeling, and Walker, gotta think one of them not named Freeling gets kicked inside if needed.
    • lol imagine being Hill and this is what your coach thinks about you replacing a guy giving up over 4 goals per game.
    • I don't think Tyreek is a bad player to play with on the field, for sure not in the same way that Diggs is, as he's a cancer on the field with how he acts, and wouldn't take kindly to being 2nd fiddle behind T-Mac. It's that Tyreek is just a terrible person who realistically shouldn't even be in the NFL, his insane athletic ability is why his off field transgressions have been overlooked.  If he was a WR3, no team would have kept him around, it was only that he was a 1st ballot HOF level talent that kept him around. Just zero interest in having a person like that around our young WRs, that's really all it comes down to for me with him. Again, if we were true contenders this year, that changes things and I'd rather bring in the best possible players and hope it works out.  But they're trying to build something here and to do that, you need high quality people, not just great talent.
