L.T, Westbrook, Lewis, etc. to the Bucs?

Recommended Posts

This is completely out of speculation. Considering LT, Brian Westbrook, and Jamal Lewis were all released this week, Larry Johnson, Kevin Faulk, and Chester Taylor are expected to become free agents, and Thomas jones is expected to be released… What are the chances the Bucs go after one of them?? We all know the Bucs have a horrible ground game and they could use a veteran back to mentor a possible draft choice at running back. What do you think??

LT and westbrook are the two i would put on top of the list....esp. LT. while i could see them waiting until after the draft to make a move i wouldn't be a bit surprised to see either one of these guys picked up as soon as FA opens.

i understand about them having a young team but experieince back there could make a lot of difference.

remember this...they are starting a still pretty green QB next year. that means a heavy emphasis on the run game and they are going to want to get the best available players there.

last year they picked up the best available RB FA there was. most of the guys in the crop of FA RBs this year are well ahead of ward. you could say that any of LT, westy, LJ would be much better RBs than any of the ones they currently have. LJ behind a decent OLine could still be lethal.

adding chester taylor or kevin faulk would be a real help to them as well. either one of those two guys would be really smart acquisitions considering how weak we are against receiving RBs typically.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
