Redskins to Pursue Peppers?

Recommended Posts

Rumor on here two seasons ago was that was where Peppers wanted to go. He wanted to play there in honor of Sean Taylor. It may have been hearsay but I remember a guy posting it after being around a relative of Pepper's at a tailgate.

I recall that too, the guy said that Peppers always wanted to play for the redskins and that was his goal. IMO by all means go to a a crap team and fade away into obscurity.

Redskins pass rush will be scary good. Too bad their offense will still suck bawls lolz

The duo of Peppers and Haynesworth will combine to be the most talented, underachieving, and overpaid duo in all of NFL History.

*Note I exclude Orakapo because he does seem to try and he is going to be a beast

the problem with the redskins is this....they do not look to the future, eventually we will have a cap back and they are going to have a shiit storm brewing in about 3 years when they cant afford any FA and they have to trade away their number 1 draft pick.

Peppers won't know what to do away from home. He played his college ball in NC, played all of his career in Charlotte. I seriously think this dude will have trouble adjusting.

DC isn't that far from home. Plus he goes and trains in AZ over the summer. It probably wouldn't be that big of a deal.

They have bigger needs than a DE they need to fix their offensive line.

Since when did the Skins allow need to dictate who they went after in FA? LOL

I love all this lip service the Skins put out by claiming that Allen and Shanny were calling the shots now... with all the needs they have, if the Skins sign Peppers then we know who is really in charge (still).

This reminds me of that time the panthers won the super bowl by signing eric swann, sean gilbert, chuck smith, and reggie white.

It also reminds me of the time when the Skins won the superbowl by signing: Bruce Smith, Deon Sanders, Brad Johnson, Jeff George, Albert Haynesworth, Brandon Lloyd, Adam Archuletta, Steve Spurrier, etc, etc, etc...

It's really amusing to watch the Skins repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Gibbs understood that you needed to build your core through the draft and bring in key FA's to compliment that and provide depth... when he realized he wasn't going to be allowed to do that the 2nd time around, he bailed.

Now that you mention it I remember that also.

If he does go there expect Orakapo to get over 20 sacks in a season. Just because of the game planning for Haynes and peppers/

I think it would be hillarious if the Skins throw a pile of money at Peppers to play OLB in a 34, a position he has never played.

For all they know, he could end up being Aaron Kampman 2.0 as an OLB

Peppers is fast and athletic, but covering a TE in open space is a whole different deal.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
