i consider the 3rd round to be the beginning of the bidding. he'd probably go for a 2nd.

still, no reason we shouldn't be in the bidding. not sure we'd have what it takes but i'd give up a 2nd for him.

I would rate his value at probably a 2nd & a 5th round package IF he was already signed to a big contract. His short contract causes his value to be poo.

I'd trade a 3rd rounder for this guy even if it only meant he'd be here for a year and leave. Smith and Boldin on the same field..

WR is considered our biggest need, along with DT... given that we've got matt moore as our probable starter at QB (eliminating the need to draft a franchise QB... knock on wood) and a plethora of guys at defensive tackle waiting to battle for the top spots, we'd probably spend the 2nd round pick on a wide receiver anyway.

we've been historically pretty awful at developing wide receivers, and boldin is already proven material. i don't see a reason NOT to pick him up, unless it appears we'd be in bidding wars with other teams willing to pony up more than we can offer.
