Luke will definitely be in. Probably first ballot. Smitty absolutely SHOULD be in but crazy WR numbers in the modern NFL is gonna be a hurdle for him to overcome. They SHOULD consider the offenses these guys played in and the percentage of the receiving yardage they accounted for, etc. but they pretty much just look at the top level numbers. The more time that passes the more mediocre his numbers will get in terms of the HOF.

I mean, Lynn Swann is a HOF WR and DJ Moore has already comfortably passed his career numbers and DJ is 26 years old.

Agreed on viewing the numbers in context.  Also I’m biased but Steve Smith was a true game changer in his prime.  Andre Johnson was a great player but I don’t think teams were as afraid of him as they were of prime Steve Smith.  I have seen very few players that can have an impact on a game like Smith could.

Johnson was a helluva WR. Don't get me wrong. But his and Smitty's receiving numbers are very similar and Smitty has return stats that Johnson lacks. Smitty has a nearly 5000 yard advantage in all purpose yardage. Smitty should've gotten in ahead of Johnson, period.

Steve Smith is probably the most underrated WR of all time, yet still he is considered a HOF.

He was better than Fitzgerald, Wayne, Harrison, Holt,  and Bruce. The only difference is how little 89 was targeted vs his contemporaries. It’s actually kind of astonishing when you look it up.

Hes consistently targeted 30-40, sometimes 50 times less than these other guys.

Had Smitty got to play with Manning, Warner, or Brady for any stretch of his prime he would have broken some records and flat out embarrassed some of these dudes.

no he wasn't...he was basically a traitor...his body of work got him in the Hall.

A traitor? He did what he thought was best or want he wanted to do for his career. How does that make him a traitor? Ridiculous post. When you leave your job, does that mean you become a traitor to all former jobs? I didn't like it at the time either but I'm not going to be so juvenile that I call him a traitor. Most people look past that and eventually come around to think about it from an adult mindset if we don't look at it in our scour we teenage girl mind. I thought the same thing too back in the day I must admit but the guy has a right to do what he wanted for his career. He finished here and all the good and happy thoughts came back with most people at least I thought.

Ray Lewis didn't go anywhere but Baltimore... Pep was a great player for us, I acknowledge that...but not the best.  JR asked him to step up as a leader of the team...and he crumbled and  booked for CHI...soo... Your opinion is not the end all be all...

And neither is your opinion the end all be all as hard as that may be to accept so........ there's that as well.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
