im glad someone is showing the guy some respect! dont get me wrong it was hes time to go, idk why we just didnt break the news to him upon being 2nd string instead of taking the 12m hit, would have made a great mentor on the field and locker room! no he no manning or brady hof qb but did give us some great games in his time as a panther and ill even bet smitty would take that to his grave!

by they way i know some haters on here i going to say he just threw it up to smitty but at the time wat qb has that much trust in a 5''9 guy if u never gave him the chance, and thats wat delhomey did! farewell jake, thanks for the cardiac cats memory's

Super Bowl just because of the magintude of the game.

San Diego showed his will to win and incredible leadership and

Chicago game after he got hammered. Got up and fired this team up and TOOK the game over.

EVERYTHING because he was 100% pure class. He won with Dignity and shouldered the blame when we lost.

Good Luck Jake... I wish you well.

killing the bears with smith during the grudge match in the playoffs

That one was definitely up there.

EVERYTHING because he was 100% pure class. He won with Dignity and shouldered the blame when we lost.

Well said. Win or lose, Jake embodied the characteristics that I wish all of the Panthers shared. The man was the Carolina Panthers.

Ah, the memories.

TD pass to Proehl vs. the Jags in 03.

X-Clown and the look left on Mike Martz's face.

The Superbowl.

The ass ripper vs. the Falcons.

The pump fake to the cameraman and subsequent throw to Rosey in the endzone against the Chargers (there was a great youtube video of some Charger fans' reactions).

The chest pound after Briggs tried to decapitate him vs. Chicago last year.

The playoff shutout win against NY in 05.

The sideline conversations with Smitty.

The Bojangles commercials. Ok, well maybe not those.

Adios, Jake.

Thanks for the memories.
