the difference between our board's perception of Burns and the Falcons board.  They have a thread about PFF's Top 50 free agents and they have fans who really want him...including this post

Open up the vaults for Brian Burns if he hits free agency. That man is a terror. I'd take Burns over Hunter or Allen.

the legend is greater than the reality.

the legend is not worth the price tag.

WHAT?  I just noticed Chinn's snap percentage.  Heck, he was in on only a few more defensive snaps than me.  Does he not fit the Evero way?  I think they wanted him to play big nickel--what the hell happened?  Was he injured and I forgot?

Hendership played much more than Chinn

what happened with chinn is a big mystery. i've lost interest in him. let him hit the market because we sure never have known what the hell to do with him.

Chinn is in essence a bust. We drafted him with no idea what to do with him and therefore he got little to no playing time. Why was he drafted in the first place? Because he's an athlete with no role in the defense. That my friend is a wasted draft pick and essentially a bust as far as we are concerned.  Move on and let someone else figure out what to do with him.

a case of us being fixated on this RAS crap. i'm sure it's important, but if they don't football well, they are worthless.

being athletic means nothing if you don't have anything you do well.

Teams almost always fail with the tweeners that have no real positional home at the NFL level.

Think Isaiah Simmons was the same draft class.  One to the best defenders in college football as an everything freelancer.   Team that drafted him already traded him.  And he was a top 10 pick.

Think it’s time.  Chinn hasn’t had a role with the last several DCs.

- would not be surprised if we let all these guys hit free agency

- Stephen Sullivan, LaBryan Ray, and Nick Thurman were already re-signed

- we need to make Yetur Gross-Matos a priority especially if we don't bring back Burns

Those 3 resignings were last year - they are not signed for 2024 yet

Who cares. I’d do it tomorrow. After watching that dog poo offense the last few years we have to do something….i couldn’t even watch them as a die hard fan. It was miserable.

I get all that but it would be nice for once to go the home grown route instead of going for a quick expensive fix.  I just wish we would do a rebuild the right way for once.

Sure he is a good wr but I think bryce needs a speedster not another big body a la mingo.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
