Brees template for OLine upgrades

Not implying that Young will be a Brees (no way). They are following the 'Aints formula to protect a smaller QB with an average arm at best.

If they intend on keeping Young then they had to do something.

Stack the middle of the Oline with stout players and get Young to move around a bit to see over the 6'6 lineman.

If this doesn't work then, Young needs to go.

It is really not about seeing over the linemen as much as it is giving you the ability and confidence to step up--if pressure is coming from the outside, a QB can step up.  and it really doesnt disrupt the timing as much as having to bail out.

Protection improves the timing, and timing increases the likelihood that the receiver will be open when the play is designed to get it to him.  Most DBs are measured by the time it takes them to close the gap after the break.

Bryce is a smart kid, and when he can focus on the secondary instead of the front 7, he will improve. No, he is not known for his height or arm strength.  we shall see

Just because your arch enemy adopts an idea, doesn’t mean you should not consider it. If it is a good idea, then I would use it as quickly as possible. Don’t throw away a good idea just because you’re hated rival uses it.

For sure. A good line and we might even see the Sanders we over paid for.

This is exactly why I think we’ll be quiet at RB this offseason.  We’ll bring in some serviceable young guys that have little to no risk, but I doubt we’ll go beyond that this year.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
