Panthers Fans React to Scott Fitterer Firing | Carolina Blitz

I mean, if you put all these moves side by side, included the trade info, the RAS scores and the positions, I couldn't tell you which moves are his and which aren't.

I hope I am wrong but this feels like another case of, "Boy none of these guys are still on the team from that 2024 draft" in about 3 seasons.

I am just starting to accept that this is what happens when the franchise is so dysfunctional. That's why all those Bengals, Lions and Browns drafts all got panned at the time and even more so afterwards. It's just endemic to the situation. Bad franchises do this to themselves.

this draft profile from wallace feels like I have read it over and over the past 4 years

Strengths: Elite athlete, sideline-to-sideline range, can blitz and rush off the edge

Weaknesses: Doesn't trust his eyes, often gets fooled out out of position, relies too much on natural ability

The Carolina Panthers' investment in Kentucky linebacker Trevin Wallace is far more about potential than what he currently is.

Wallace is a fantastic natural athlete and had a 9.34 relative athletic score (out of 10), according to Pro Football Network's Kent Lee Platte. But his instincts and natural feel for the game aren't quite there yet.

Panthers general manager Dan Morgan played linebacker in the NFL for seven years. He must see something in Wallace that he thinks can be developed into a three-down, second-line defender over time.

Grade: C

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
