I got to imagine the pressure on Ewers has to be insane going into that game

I mean, he was the favorite to win the Hiesman Trophy before he got injured. I don't think his position as the QB1 is as in danger as everyone is making it out to be. Yes, it's a Manning, but it's not like Quinn Ewers wasn't tearing it up before he got injured.

Manning looked good but he had some turnovers against lesser competition. Quinn has kept him at bay for over a year now.

The class is kind of souring on me.  I'm leaning a bit into the Nus-Bus with an eye on Allar.  Still want to see how the season plays out.

I’m not sure Allar declares unless he is projected to be a top pick. I’m leaning towards a bridge QB with a mid to late round project one like maybe Donovan Smith (yeah he is starting off rough this year).

My biased flavor of the week rankings: Sanders, Milroe, Ewers, Ward

Sanders/Ewers/Ward

Milroe is interesting, but I view him more as a raw prospect. If he keeps this play up for an entire season he might jump to #1. I low-key wanted him in the later rounds after we draft Hunter or Tmac.

How was someone a Heisman favorite after a few games vs bad competition?

Honestly it's still too early to name a favorite for Heisman. Usually week 10 is when the Heisman conversation becomes serious.

Which is why I'm confused with the Arch Manning hype when Ewers has kept him on the bench. I would take Ewers over Manning right now.

This has been my mindset as well.

Seriously I want either Hunter or Tmac. Get Canales project QB in the later rounds.

The kid Smith I never watched saw he was 6'5 235. Does he have a legit arm?

Smith’s arm isn’t elite but it’s good. He can get it in tight windows and air it out down the field. I haven’t followed him this year but his stats look down which could mean we snag him later in the draft.

    • I watched a clip of all the offensive snaps. Young threw into some tight coverage and the guys made some plays on the ball. He also really missed some throws.  He has this middle of the field thing into a tight window pretty good and made three or four nice plays but he was just too inconsistent with his accuracy especially in the red zone. Today and in general.    That Int where people were chastising Legette for ‘not fighting through the coverage’, he in no way could have gotten to that ball. IMO. I think he thought it was going to hit the ground and didn’t see the defender coming for it. But not sure what he could have done. The camera doesn’t show the spatial relationship very well, I think the ball was way off. maybe 6 feet or more off target to the inside of the field.  Rico is a beast. And a very good receiver.   That was my impression without dissecting and rewinding, just letting the video roll. I did rewind the int two or three times to look at that one.
    • My biggest issue with keeping Darnold, which I felt we should have done, is we would still have Fitterer. And everything that came with that.  I think Morgan is going to be good.  Baker, just did not play well at all here. Not sure what else we were supposed to take away from it at the time.  That’s my short ‘I don’t want to argue about it’ take.
    • Even if we somehow make the playoffs we will be one and done so fast. Seattle, Rams, TB, Panthers, Detroit and Philly are all better than us.
